My mom and I are reading all of Brandon Sanderson's books inside the Cosmere before we read Rhythm of War.

I just downloaded The Thin Man and Return of the Thin Man as audiobooks for my museum challenge. They are my first books from the library this year.

Just got The Passage and Leave Only Footprints: My Acadia-to-Zion Journey Through Every National Park from a little library.

I just got Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis, which is for my real life book club next month.

Kirstie I hear the movie was good. Let me know how the book is.

We also read it for my book club. I didn't think much of the book but it certainly created a good discussion.

Sandra, it wasn’t my favorite club pick but it’s not my least favorite either. I’m going to try it and hope it’s good. I expect the discussion to be lively at our meeting too.

We are discussing Pachinko the end of this month and Hillbilly Elegy the end of February, so it will be a little bit before I get to it.

I just got An Echo in the Bone from my library. There are 40 files in the audiobook. The hc is over 1100 pages. I will be listing to this one for a while.

Pachinko Is an okay book. It started off amazing. It felt like the author got tired towards the end of the book. The chars in the beginning came alive. In the last part they seemed to lack distinction. Let me know what you think Kristie.

Sandra - I really enjoyed The Passage. I think it is the best first in series horror book I can ever remember reading, although I was worried about it until my daughter convinced me that it was not scary and I should just read it. I did not read the second book for a long time and after I started it, I realized that I needed to go back and read the first one again. I did the same with the third book in the trilogy, and again - went back and read the first two over again. I have started and stopped The City of Mirrors twice since then but I am determined to get through it this year. I put it under the About task under Museum 20, which will be on my badge 2 list. I hope you like it.

I picked it because I remembered I wanted to read something by Justin Cronin, though I couldn't remember much more. When I checked at home, I was impressed at its rating. 4.2 among my GR friends.

I really loved that one too. Good choice.

I loved the whole series and want to re-read it some day.

I also noticed that all the books in the trilogy have high ratings, which is good. I doubt about adding series to my TBR when I see that the first books have high ratings but then ratings go down for later installments, which happens often.

The waiting list at my library for The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo for the Feb group read book was ridiculous (#117 of 14 copies for the ebook and #67 of 7 copies for the audiobook) but i got my fingers on The One-in-a-Million Boy and have the ebook downloaded on my tablet ready to read. The audiobook was probably doable, but the wait time said four weeks, so I did not put it on hold.

oh, Kristie - you reminded me that I need to put a hold on Winterkeep!

I am about to be overloaded with library books. I am hoping that I can use some of them for some upcoming challenges or something. I also have other books I need to read, so it's unlikely that I'll be able to read them all, but I'm really interested in all of them.

I ran into a problem because I requested my library order some books and they all just showed up in my account. We can only have 10 books on hold for electronic books and I am over because of the new orders. I need to add my real life book club book to my hold list, but the only way I can do that is by accepting all of the books that become available as soon as possible.

Plus I have 7 others that I paused the hold. Yikes... lots of reading to do! Why do they always come in all at once?!

LOL! It's Murphy's Law. I'm waiting on one that may take months to come. I need it for my first badge so may end up buying it instead.

It is kind of annoying, Kristie. I check my position in queue lists very often, and if I am second or third and I know I won't be able to read the books when they come then I suspend my holds. Now the other day I checked and I was 7th, 8th, and 11th for three of my books. Three days later I got an email that all of them were ready for pick up. WHAT??? I guess that people do not accept the books when it is their turns and then the list goes faster, which is good, but it is annoying too. Mine are paper copies, no ebooks, so I can actually keep them after the due dates (no fines during the pandemic), but I hate to do that because other people is in the waiting list after me. But again, I might return them unread and then people after me would just not accept them, so I'd have returned them for nothing. I protest that library patrons are not responsible enough, and my husband says I take this too seriously. Lol.

You got Oh She Glows for Dinner! I am still #14 and I have been waiting since October.
Have you seen Flying Apron's Gluten Free & Vegan Baking Book?? My library has it on order and it will take forever before I get it, but it looks good.

Seriously, Janice! I ended up buying Fiber Fueled because I needed to return it to the library before I had time to read it. Of course, that is one that I really need to get too along with the new Atkins book so I can lock this new diet down. Add them to the list...

Sandra, we are on the same page with the library! I always return books on time or I'd feel guilty and am frustrated when other people don't extend the same consideration.

I just picked that one up, Dawn. :) I'm excited to take a look at it. I did not see Flying Apron yet. I'll have to check it out.

They added The Scorpion's Tail too! I'm definitely going to have to put a pause on a couple of these holds. Hopefully, I'll still be able to get my RL book club book in time. Honestly, if I accept all of these there is no way I'll have time to read my RL club book anyway never mind finish all of these.

Mexican Gothic just came in for me at the library - i'm kind of skeptical because i DNF'd her other book, but this is a group read for another group and i'd read the other options..sooo....

Ready Player Two is ready for me to pick up now too.

I currently reading Creature, it has turned out to be a pleasant surprise; scary enough that I have even avoided reading it in the evening, especially yesterday when I was alone. I don't scare easily nowadays, I actually sort of miss the times when reading 'Salem's Lot had me sleeping with the lights on, LOL.

Next library book I want to start is Jahti (The Hunting Party), what a lovely yellow color for the museum challenge! I'm waiting for Smoke Bitten and Calling Bullshit: The Art of Scepticism in a Data-Driven World, I'm in third place for both, but there's only one copy, so it might take a while yet.

I am on the waiting list for Mexican Gothic but I got the next book in The Lady Trent Memoirs. The Tropic of Serpents. All of my other holds are pending weeks away. Good thing I have a good supply of owned books.

I'm only half done with Clockwork Angel and I kind of want to get Clockwork Prince so that I don't have to wait to read it when I'm done.

I was checking out my library list of always available audiobooks and downloaded five titles that will all fit tasks in my museum challenge.
I finished the second Lady Trent title and put the third book on hold. I thought the second book was a much better story than the first book.

I am listening to The Toll by Cherie Priest. It is listed as horror but not scary at all, just a weird story. The narrator has a great voice! I am supposed to be reading three other books for the museums I am working on but I have not been able to stop listening to this story 🙄

The Toll - museum 35, about. bridge on the cover - I already finished it. It was a hoot!
Old in Art School: A Memoir of Starting Over I do not know if this will fit anything, but it sounded interesting. Now, if I can figure out how to download the .pdf additional information, I would be happy. I download audiobooks to my iPod for listening and ebooks to my Samsung Nook tablet. It is audio capable, but I had a problem the last time I tried listening to an audiobook.
Mr. Loverman - maybe for old character over 70. This just sounded interesting too.

The American Plague: The Untold Story of Yellow Fever, the Epidemic That Shaped Our History I do not have a direct link to this one "yet" either but I read a little bit about yellow fever in another story that I read recently and I wanted to know more.
