Laurie | 15 comments If I can find it, Dominion by Bentley Little (1995)

Finally went with Relic, by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (1995). I'm halfway done, and it's pretty good so far. A monster eating people in the Museum of Natural History, yes please!

Leanne Olson (leanneolson) | 69 comments I'm 1998...not a good year for horror, yikes. I'll have to think on this one.

Crystal Staley | 9 comments Insomnia by Stephen King (1994).

message 9: by Lucie (new)

Lucie Wicks | 1 comments The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon - Stephen King (1999)
Read it at the time and it became one of my faves for time to come

message 10: by Cody (new)

Cody | 3 comments Well 11/22/63 came out when I was 17 (one of my favorite King books) but I think I'm going to with The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (2011)

message 14: by Whitney (new)

Whitney | 118 comments I finished The Woman in Black (1973). I loved this book. The atmosphere and the slow reveal of the extent of the horrors was perfect. Arguably the best house ever in a gothic haunting.

message 15: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 41 comments Finding something published in 2000 is proving difficult.

message 16: by Leanne (new)

Leanne Olson (leanneolson) | 69 comments I'm struggling with 1998 too. I can see why I read a lot more horror now than I did in the 90s...so much more variety readily available now.

message 17: by Whitney (new)

Whitney | 118 comments Check out this site, you can search by genre and year. I entered 1998, but you can change it.

Silvia | 3 comments I'm working my way back through all of my old Christopher Pike books! The Star Group fits the bill for this challenge.

I think that just convinced me that I hate all books from 1998...except the ones I've already read. Though I missed King's Bag of Bones, that might be worth picking up!

I read this last month! It's really good =]

I need a 2007 one as well, but I read this last year and don't want to reread again. Sigh. 😊

I'm seeing an abundance of 2007 riches: The Imago Sequence, 30 Days of Night, The Terror, John Dies At the End, The Mist, Ghoul, Let the Right One In, Mister B. Gone, et. al.

Tattooed Horror Reader (tattooedreader13) I think I'm going to read I'll be Watching You by Charles de Lint. picked it up at a library sale a couple of years ago, have zero idea what it's about, but its on my shelves & on a list of books published in 1994. Fingers crossed that its good!

Yes! It's great. So, I watched the movie when it came out and really wasn't impressed. I picked up the book out of curiosity and absolutely LOVED it! I wish they wouldn't have diverted so heavily from the book. It would have made such a good movie if they would have stuck to the source material more closely.

message 30: by Brian (new)

Brian | 40 comments Coraline by Neil Gaiman. Much creepier than the movie.

message 31: by Bethany (new)

Bethany (reviewerbeth) | 7 comments 2004… this is not a good year (especially for me since I’m pickyyyyyy) gonna have to think on it a little bit… lol

A weeks late but hard second on this recommendation. I adore this book and frequently recommend it to others. It had both a scene that made my skin crawl and a brief sequence so lovely I literally teared up.
