Niamh | 497 comments A couple years ago, I set my personal challenge as reading books I owned a physical copy of but was yet to read. I managed to reduce my print TBR by about 30, because I kept buying more print books to replace the ones I had finished.

This year, it's time to tackle the Kindle TBR. I started the year with 364 unread books on my Kindle, and I'm aiming to get that down to 300. Knowing me, I'm likely to have a similar issue to the last challenge, as I'll keep buying more e-books to read as I cross some off the list, but that's future me's problem, and more books isn't bad in the long run.

Good luck Niamh - a great challenge. I think we all do the same thing, don't we!!! At least we'll never have a lack of reading material :)

Niamh | 497 comments I found a couple books that had somehow been added to my "to read" Kindle folder twice, so my count remaining has jumped down by 3 or so. I need to go through my Kindle and figure out if there's any more that I've already read that are in the "to read" folder, and also download a couple books I've bought since last connecting the Kindle to the internet, so we'll see what all that fiddling around does to my TBR count

Niamh | 497 comments Finished going through the Kindle and downloading all the new books, and the TBR count is now up to 373 🤦‍♀️📖

A worthy challenge, Niamh - best of luck!

Wild (wildchook) I'm definitely guilty of doing both that's for sure. And now, for some of my favourite books, I've been buying the Audible version so I can keep the story going to & from work driving (if I wasn't driving I'd be reading myself but the blue unies don't like you distracted driving lol).

Best wishes on reaching your goal Niamh.

Niamh | 497 comments Ahaha oops, despite this challenge, I've been reading print books, so I've only just hit 5 e-books read this year 😅

Haha! That's funny Niamh!!

Niamh | 497 comments Most of the rest of the books I've chosen for the two annual A-Z challenges are on my Kindle. I was reading print books I'd chosen for the Summer Challenge before deciding Kindle TBR would be my personal 2021 challenge

That's fair enough - and it's only early days!

Niamh | 497 comments Well, one way to take a book off the TBR count is to try reading it, not enjoying it, then giving up and counting it as a DNF. Unfortunately, I found myself slogging through the first 20% of Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks, not enjoying it at all, then finally made the call this morning to just list it as a DNF and move onto something I will enjoy more.
