So, favorite couple or character? It's always Talon and Miller for me, but re-reading the first ones, I think Maddie is a close second. Or Noah. :D

I may have gotten a tiny little bit carried away, I just finished chapter 5.

Oh - wow - there are a ton of other buddy reads for this book, I will not peek, though.
I've been through the first couple of chapters but will wait up for you.
As a prologue: This book caught my eyes because I love cats, and on the cover art it looks like as if the guy has a black cat draped over his shoulder. So cute.

I already read this book, you can't spoil anything for me. I may have forgotten a few details (I really forgot about Ollie's ex and his brother. Huh.), but not all of it :D

Finished chapter 22. I LOVE how Lennon stands up to Ollie's family for him. It's so perfect. I love how they really don't see how their enthusiasm wasn't always helpful and felt really bad.

I also really enjoyed high Lennon with no filter. So adorable, the things that fall out of his mouth :D:D:D

I also may have gone back to Ash and Max's story, cause for the life of me, I couldn't remember what their problem was...

Speaking of, I kinda don't like Ash in this story. But oh well. Exes have been handled much worse

I am still trying to get over the very unlikely fake-boyfriend trope in the beginning that mostly got a "seriously???" out of me ;-)

And lol. Yep, you just gotta go with it. It makes no sense. They're men and clearly idiots? Does that help? :D

So ... here we go ... uhg ... I really have a problem to say this, but I just can not get into this. If the story would have been set up just a little bit differently with Ollie's ex-boyfriend Ash .... like if Ash would have been a cheating bastard ... I would love how the tension grows between Ollie and Lennon. But as is Ollie loved his boyfriend, and he would still be together with him if Ash wouldn't have put him on the spot - after 4 years dating, none-the-less! - for not coming out of the closet and giving them a realtionship where they could have fun outside their own four walls.
But Ollie puts his career first - good for him, but then he is trying to do the same with Lennon. And again, I would not have so much a problem with this if I wouldn't feel as if he would be happily together with his chummy Ash if Ash hadn't dropped him. Making Lennon in my eyes just the second choice. So I am missing the "you are the ONE" that I love so much.

Oh just popping in because was glad to see someone else feel similar to me, i did buddy read this not long ago.

Your thoughts what happened with me too, sadly this book was a dnf for me at like halfway. Because i had pretty much the exact same thoughts and i couldn't sympathise with Ollie at all, i just didn't enjoy his character or feel for him.

My favourite of the series is Noah & Matt so far, i am looking forward to trying Talon & Millers soon 💕

I have zero problems with Ash and Olli, I LOVE the fact that they stay friends (oh and just FYI, he ends up with Ollie's brother, so you probably might want to stay away from their novella if you have problems with this one ^^), that no one cheated or was otherwise an ass...
And he wouldn't have stayed with Ash, cause they had zero in common, Ash was a bit of a control freak, and they had a lot of other issues (which Ollie talks about at some point and are also mentioned in Ash's story). I also don't feel like Lennon is a second choice, cause he's much happier with him and does intend to come out (before that choice kinda gets taken away from him for drama's sake. They don't out him in the press, just speculate, and then it's up for him to decide what to do, though. So.). And even more so, Ash pressuring Ollie to come out and refusing to see his side (even if it's because a lack of communication) kinda makes him very much not "the one". They were SO not suited as a couple, and they see that. I like that they can still be around each other.

But. Tastes are different ^^

Heike, I won't blame you if you abandon it. Don't force yourself to finish it if you don't like it!

When I wrote my comment here I was at about 35 or 40%. All the information about the relationship with Ash having other problems than just the closet thing came a bit too late in the book for not already having somewhat of a resentment build up in me. **ooh** - I guess that was a mouthful ... ;)

This said the book did redeem itself a bit, but all in all I could never really pin for Ollie, damage once done and so. Him coming out in the end was still somewhat coward in the shadow of someone else ...

I ended up with a lot of eyeroll notes and "too little too late" comments in my highlight section.

To summarize it: I was too pissed at Ollie to pursue Lennon and potentially put him through the same heartbreak as Ash (because we did not know that Ash was a selfish asshole anyways until 60% through the book!), I did enjoy the slow burn between them, and funny Lennon. But all in all: too little, too late ;)

I regret that I have not read Noah and Matt, I very much liked Damon and Maddox, the only reason it lost a star with me was that the last three chapters in that one were nothing but a prolonged prologue.

I am totally in for Talon & Millers! Count me in! :)

I am happy you could enjoy this without being put off by the former relationship. I wished I could have, because I loved Lennon for his wit, and Ollie was such a sweet hunk!

Oh feel free to stalk my reviews, beware a lot of them are hella long. Matt & Noahs book got 5 stars from me, because i adored them and their story. I really liked how the fake dating works in that one too, along with both being out of closet at the start so didn't have that angst.

Oh i adored Lennon! But i couldn't care for Ollie, i only got to 45% though so never rated this book. Although lots in my buddy read and short review as to how it didn't work for me 😂

Yay! Lets go another thread for Talon & Miller, i am expecting to love them. As loved what seen of those two in Matt & Noahs book, can't wait to see develop xx

Would I be better off if I read Matt&Noah first? I read Damon&Maddox. Since we are starting on Blindsided in a week or so I would have the time.

I don't think you need to read Matt & Noahs first, but their book is amazing and does introduce Talon & Miller as side cast. So if you have the time then go for it, but if not it won't be a problem reading Blindsided 😊

I agree with Laura. Talon&Miller were only ever supposed to be minor characters, so they only show up in Matt&Noah's book as adorable sluts with a slight hint of there being more to their friendship
