Jenny Pox is AWESOME! Here is my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* (marcthedarc) I'm several chapters into the first book, and it's not bad at all. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. The main villain so far is a bit too stock of a mean girl bully, a cross between Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls and Reese Witherspoon in Election, it will be fun to see when she gets her just demise. I'm interested to see how Jenny's character develops. The Southern setting feels authentic. I expect the author lives in that region.

I agree

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* (marcthedarc) I finished and reviewed Jenny Pox. Very good, J.L. Bryan is an author I could read more of. I won't be able to fit more of this series into this quarter, though. I liked this first book but I fear the series in entirety would wear thin for me.

The book could be classified as YA but potentially broadly appealing to any fan of supernatural stories. As for mature content: sex, drugs, alcohol, destroying your enemies, surely no teenager has ever been interested in such things!

Trana Mathews (tranamathews) | 72 comments I finally finished reading the ebooks my son sent me for Christmas, so sorry but a bit behind!

Here's my review of Jenny Pox: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

As I mention, I thought the fight between Jenny and Ashleigh was too predictable as it was easy to see from the beginning. I did enjoy the ending, revealing how they had these powers. However, I think it needed more of a plot twist. Maybe instead Seth defeating Ashleigh using a combination of power from Jenny.

Mel Baker (themelbaker) | 76 comments Alright kids, I seem to be in a bit of a rut. I did give this one 4 stars, because the author is clearly a very talented wordsmith, but in reality, it was closer to 3.5.

Some of the characters were believable, some not so much. And while I did enjoy the storyline/plot in book one, when I got to the end, I didn't have that 'OMG I have to read the next one' feeling.

My review is very short because I just didn't finish excited.
