I really like how from the prologue itself the pace is set so much faster than the previous book. And what's great is that the book never loses the pace. It's like those movies where it's a high paced action movie that is able to integrate a good amount of plot in between the action

I've read the foreword of Stephen King and I love how he has 'a thing' with numbers. Also, the foreword makes it easier to place the book and why he wrote it, what his thoughts were on the book.
The tone of the prologue sets the hint that the pace and the writing style will be a bit different than the first book. The scene with the lobster monster was interesting. It seems that Roland will need to watch his back.

End of Chapter 3
The book is rolling along fine as of now. A lot of unexplained things happening, but hoping for clarity in future.

I've almost finished chapter 4. The writing is slightly different from the first book.
About the door:
(view spoiler)[I think the doors are in a way protected or something. The metal was freezing cold and the runes were burning hot. So, I think someone put a spell or message on it. You see that a lot in other fantasy books. (hide spoiler)]

Eddie Dean:
(view spoiler)[It is interesting what is happening to him. It's almost in a sense that he's schizophrenic with his own and Roland's personality, but in fact it's just reality. It's like a good posession. Sometimes a bit confusing, though. I'm asking myself if Dean eventually will stay in Roland's world. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Yes, you're right about Roland's world. You could see that in the first book: it was both post - apocalyptic and a sort of western. It seemed that the world as what was known, is lost due to some catastrophy that hasn't been explained (yet). (hide spoiler)]

How are you doing on this one, Saksham? I'm still reading, but in between a couple of books.

Same, I plan to finish Shining soon, and then go over it. Also kinda busy with my college stuff lately, so going with one book at a time, otherwise I had a habit of reading 2-3 books at a time.

Same here. I'm a multiple book reader, but I try to stick by one at the time.
