Huck Flynn | 380 comments On Sky Arts (Freeview) the other night and a fascinating picture of the opinionated but candid Crosby. Criticising a shop in Laurel Canyon for selling music posters and souvenirs - he points at one of Jim Morrison and exclaims "Dork!" and said "He never came here". Great stories of the highs and lows of CSNY, Joni and Co with some great footage, other interviews, new and contemporary. A talented man but rather paradoxical attitude between regret for poor relations with SN&Y nowadays and stubborn refusal to make amends. Couldn't decide whether or not he is a bit of an a55h0le. Anyone see it?

barney gumble to david crosby - "you're a musician?"

that's all i gots to say - i didn't watch the programme, primarily because he's a huge asshole, so i guess that answers your question?

Brass Neck | 3979 comments I saw it and found it fascinating. A hugely talented man and undoubtedly a monstrously huge egotistical asshole. He knows this of course and in less than great health with one foot in the grave his reminiscences are tinged with regret but that's usually hidden behind barely described glee at the women he's bedded, what he sees as his central part in any music collaborations, partners, both musical and amorous, he's pissed off. He still inspires great love - his current wife's obviously deep love shows in her anguish as he sets off on another tour he may not return from having bought the farm on some distant stage. I felt myself itching to remove that stupid walrus moustache at every represented stage of his career!

Totally agree Brass - sad to hear the CSN rendition of Silent Night in front of Obama - sounding a bunch of cats at midnight. Stephen Stills strangely absent from documentary - presumably his opinions too hostile? Loved the story about Joni writing and singing a song to him announcing he was history.
