Did you check straight away after you added the book, LaurLa? I find that it needs some time before you get recs for that book you added to currently-reading.
If you still don't get any recs, happy for you to adopt that approach as it's pretty much the same thing...
I found I didn't have the box checked to include my Currently Reading shelf in recommendations. I fixed that, but it still didn't come up with anything. Don't know why - I have 9 books on there, and they're not recent additions.
I can't find the recommendations for my currently reading shelf. Is there a direct link for it, because it isn't one of the options when I look at https://www.goodreads.com/recommendat...

One thing I did notice, however, is that books shown on rec's (when you hover over the book, it tells you the book is being recommended because you added x book) are near identical to books shown on "READERS ALSO ENJOYED". I say near identical because because only a handful books from "READERS ALSO ENJOYED" are being recommended.
Happy for you to pick a book from the "READERS ALSO ENJOYED" section of your currently-reading book.
That link works for me Tien. You can also check https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/edit that reccs is ticked for currently reading. Mine wasn't initially. Once i ticked it the reccs started showing up after an hour or so
Oh and readers also enjoyed is different because it includes books you've already added, whereas recommendations is only books that aren't on your shelves
I tried your link, Tien, and it said they're working on my list!! As Meg said in post 38 above, I did have to check the box (under "edit shelves") for my Currently Reading shelf, so I'll try it again tomorrow and see if it's caught up. Thanks for the help.
