toointofiction | 186 comments The Folk of the Air series is one of my all-time favourite series!! Holly Black is an absolutely brilliant and talented writer. The world she built is magnificent, the characters she created are incredible and their relatioships are soooo beautiful!!!! I will never get over Jude and Cardan's relatioship. One of the best enemies-to-lovers I have everread!!!! And the story and plot are so interesting they held my attention from start to finish!! I would like to state that Locke sucks (I am glad he died) and Taryn needs to get her sh*t together because she is literally the worst sister (I hate her more than Locke, Queen Orlagh, and most of Cardan's family, including his mother, combined). The ending of the The Queen of Nothing was everything I've ever hoped for and I can't wait to read how Holly is going to further develop the series.
5/5 stars series!!

Ohh! I wish that the hints are truly indicating more books in series!

Erica | 1309 comments Ooh I hadn't heard that. I too have this series on my all-time favourite list. The world Holly Black made started with the Tithe series and then there's the stand-a-lone The Darkest Part of the Forest. A few of the characters showed up in the Folk of the Air.

For me, the first book in series was pretty slow but I liked the last part of the book where it got all action and became fast paced. But I totally wasn't prepared for what was going to come in the next 2 books, like I couldn't imagine after reading first book that I'll love the series in the end. It was so beautiful, everything about them was amazing, the plot, the writing style and Cardan was perfect, and I liked how Jude came around to be, being a mortal.
I buddy read the books with Erica and it was cherry on top for me, it was a lovely experience,I would say.
Definitely one of my most recommended and favourite series!!❤️

Erica | 1309 comments I enjoyed buddy reading these with you as well. 😃

Erica | 1309 comments There is a special edition of Queen of Nothing published by Barnes & Noble that had 6 letters from Carden to Jude. You can find them by googling, but I recommend reading the book first if you don't have this copy.

Oh no problem! No need to apologise.

Lu | 25 comments I love this series, rating it 5, even with my great anger at Jude by the end of the second book. I understand everything she went through, I understand she saw no option but to kill Balekin, but could she not talk to Cardan before marrying him? They were finally on the same line, so I got really upset with her at that point. And then Cardan sent Jude away, which took my breath away as well. Anyways, I loved Jurdan chemistry, the tension they build.
Cardan is my fave character in this series, followed by Oak. Even though Locke is twisted, I find him a very interesting character. But I also thought he was very similar to another character, from 'The Coldest Girl in Coldtown', that manipulative ex-boyfriend from the MC.

If you are up to reading fanfic, I'm letting the link for the second fic I ever wrote; it was about this fandom: https://archiveofourown.org/works/264...

Kali | 350 comments I really enjoyed this series and agree it’s a great enemies to lovers romance. The newest book is coming out soon ! Have any of y’all read stolen heir about oak and the muzzled princess ?? I just finished it a bit ago. Anxiously waiting on the newest one now.

Also did anyone read taryns story ? It’s an apology letter. Cardan also has a stand alone. I hated taryn during the main series.
