It's hard to give a page count on where exactly to stop since there are multiple editions of this story so use your best judgement on where you think the halfway point is of "The Mouse on the Mile" for your particular edition and be kind :)

What are we thinking of the characters so far? Who is your favorite? Do we think John Coffey is guilty?

Chelley Marie | 202 comments I forgot about steamboat Willy aka mr jingles .. so far I almost cried when they found Coffey with the girls:( I started book 2 this morning. It's been since 1996 I've read this book. So happy to do it again .

I just read the first book in one sitting. Ugh. This book is gonna wreck me. Definitely started crying when he was talking about the girls. I thought it would be easier to read since I had seen it in the movie but NOPE. This doesn't bode well for me with what happens in the rest of this book lol
