Ok so, like, in the January topic, it said that we are allowed to create new topics to talk about the book... and I finished Six of Crows and was wondering if anyone else did, and what they thought about it lol sorry I know it’s only a week in but I’m impatient and absolutely loved the book and want to talk about it with someone haha

Ikr! What did you think of the characters? I really loved all of them, and my favorite one was Kaz, Nina or Matthias honestly hehe

I loved the characters I really like inej and her backstory. Nina is also one of my favourites because she would do anything for her friends even sacrifice herself. What did you think of the ending?

I read it in September and it’s by far one of the best books I’ve ever read. I’m usually not a fan of the main character being a man - books with badass girl mains are always the best - but this is an exception since Kaz isn’t too big of a MC and everyone else has super important roles that make it seem like there are multiple mains. I guess what makes Kaz the MC is him being the leader. Does that make any sense?

Tbh when I first read the book I was so shocked I don’t remember my feelings towards the ending lol but I immediately picked up the second book because I was dying to know what happened next. I feel like Kaz and Van Eck were just going back and forth with “oh yeah? Well I bet you weren’t expecting this!” At the end haha

And yessss I love how all the characters are basically the mc and there isn’t a specific character they focus on. Kaz is technically the mc I suppose due to him being the lead and whatnot of the Dregs.

I also like how they all had their issues they had to deal with, whether they shared it with others or not, like Kaz and Inej have PTSD, Jesper has ADHD, and Wylan having Dyslexia. I think it makes them more relatable due to them having a “weakness” or just something they struggle with

Yessss! It’s quite diverse. And with Nina being a bigger girl but totally owning it! Too bad she’s skinny in the TV show.

Yeah I was really disappointed in most of the casting in the tv show tbh, haha I think it’s because I love all the characters so much in the book, that I wanted them 100 percent accurate for the show

I think readers are always disappointed with the casting of an adaptation.

Yes I agree I think the casting is all wrong but it’s just the way I pictured it lol

Also, what’s with shows casting actors in their late 20’s for characters in their teens? So unrealistic and sets teens up for disappointment in their own looks. Teens don’t look like adults!

Yesss honestly, Kaz’s actor looks like a married 32 year old man with 4 kids and works a full time job, not a 17 year old thief

I still haven't gotten to it😅 but I'm going to try to read it next week

Oh yay! I honestly can’t wait till the end of the month so I can hear everyone’s thoughts on it! I love this book so much, I’ve read it 9 times since November 2019 (I’m not even joking lol)

i started rereading it last night! I wasn't planning to, but the cover looked so pretty i just had to pick it up again. Also i'm not really a big fan of Matthias, but i hope i like him better this time

I finished it a few days ago and I loved it! I think it had quite a slow start but once it picked up the pace it was amazing

When I read it, it was my second time trying to read it because the first time I lost interest because it had such a slow beginning. I’m glad I tried to read it again because I love it!

I've watched the trailer obsessively. IT'S SO PERFECT!!!! I love all of it! The SFX are amazing, too. I haven't seen anyone mention it though.
