Use this Topic to discuss books you’re reading or that fit the 6th Scavenger Hunt task.

Nope it's not. Although many have said it should be.

Welcome to the group!

Debbie (dragonryyder) | 113 comments I think it’s on the children’s list. So can I get credit for that list?? 🤣🤣🤣

Amanda Dawn | 265 comments Didn't realize how many books specifically from the year 2000 were on this list (annoying as a 90s child who is currently reading a book from 2000). But, A Fine Balance and Tipping the Velvet are and I'm going to read at least one of those this year.

Tricia | 18 comments I recommend A Fine Balance. It’s excellent. Definitely 5 stars!

Karina | 401 comments Born in 87 and read a book published in 87 - The Child in Time by Ian McEwan. Not a fan.

I'd definitely say McEwan isn't for everyone and if choosing one of his titles from the 80s might have gone for "The Comfort of Strangers" myself. Hope you get something from the read you've chosen, though.

Irem A | 60 comments I'll go for wasp factory by Banks. Born in 80s and spoiled for choices

Well I might still read these 2 this year, but it turns out [book:Indigo
(which I was reading for a read the world group) was published in 92, so using that one now :)

SaraSian | 77 comments The Lover by Marguerite Duras published in 1984, the decade of my birth. Loved this one. It washes over you gently while reading. It’s very sensual in the content and the way it’s written.

Dina Goluza | 327 comments For this task I'll read Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys - published October 1966

Ashley Husemoller | 10 comments I was born in 1983, so I'm going to give The Piano Teacher a whirl for this prompt! :)

Mel | 23 comments Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, published in 1997. I mostly enjoyed this one but I probably wouldn't choose to read it again. I gave it 4 stars.

I'm starting Excellent Women by Barbara Pym published 1952, which is the year I was born. Yeah, I'm getting old- I saw President Kennedy when I was a kid.
This will be my final (12th) book for the challenge- I'm 2/3 through my 11th scavenger hunt book.

PS 11/07: Finished!

Andrew | 17 comments Born in 1997, so The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy. Have wanted to read this for ages, and it's a good reason to do so.
