Fingersmith by Sarah Waters.I quite enjoyed it but I could see every development coming, probably because I watched the Korean movie inspired by the book. And for once I actually preferred the movie because it had a lot more queerness.
I have Call me by your Name by Andre Acimen in my line up of books I want to read.

I read The Lost Language of Cranes earlier this year, and really loved it. It's about father-son relationship in New York in the 80s, where the son is already out but his dad is closeted and ends up in a spiral after his son comes out. It was a great demonstration in the generational differences in gay culture and the trauma of homophobia.
Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz. One of the main characters carries on with homosexual relationships, much to the dismay of his wife.
I think Christopher Isherwood and his books would qualify. Also Maurice by E.M. Forster is on the list (I think).

Isherwood's title books are indeed queer themed (I have yet to add them to the sub-list as I was waiting confirmation but it doesn't seem it'll be needed) but one of his most important works in that area is missing. I am talking, of course, about A Single Man.

Done. I pinned LGBT to the top of the folder Genres, Topics, and Themes and moved the whole folder up a couple of places. Keep referring people to it so they get used to looking there. Also, you may want to check the LGBT shelf in the Bookshelf to see if all your books are there.
I go with Debbie here! I also read Midaq Alley by Naguib Mahfouz for this task, even if I had to admitt that also here there were a bunch of characters pretty fixing with task 12!

Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin seems like an obvious choice for me. Been needing to read some Baldwin anyway and this might be a good opportunity to do so.
I also read the monthly group read of Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters. I enjoyed most of it, but found the ending rushed. I ended up giving it 4 stars. I am interested in reading more by Sarah Waters.
