I second Folk of the Air and The Hunger Games.

Do you need to read the Vampire Academy series to understand Bloodlines?

Yes, Bloodlnes is the direct sequel to the Vampire Academy series and there are several things that will confuse you if you don't read VA first. There are also major VA spoilers throughout the Bloodlines series, so if you decide to read VA later you might not enjoy it.

I always feel apprehensive to start a book series before all the books have been published. Couldnt pick up hunger games after seeing all the hate the last book received.

You can join in the Six of Crows discussion with us and share your thoughts. And Hunger Games is a really great series even though you might have heard otherwise. It's one of my favourites so I suggest that you give it a try. :-)

My favorites are Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Folk of the Air, and probably Throne of Glass and Percy Jackson, both of which I am currently reading.

My favorite book series 's are dork diaries, Harry potter, Malory towers

I can't believe no one mentioned these series yet.
1. Mistborn Era 1
2. Stormlight Archives

I haven't completed the series yet but it's definitely a 5 star read for me.

Lord of the Rings (which would be marketed as YA today) is currently my favourite series. I have read the first book of Chaos Walking and, so far, it's very good. I'll probably add more soon.
