Martin Rinehart Lately I'm getting lots of offers to review my (yet unpublished) books. Some of them Google flags with a "Beware!" message. All of them from a person whose friendly name is unmatched to the return address.

Anyone actually answered one of these?

Natalya Androsova | 12 comments Yes, there's another thread here where we were comparing notes on those spam review offers. Sorry can't recall the exact name. But yes, Cheryl Simmons, Gwendolyn Mavis, and Mary-Ann something or other are a few to stay away from.👍

John Espie | 5 comments I just started getting these as well and wondered where they got my info? All signs point to goodreads, but I can't be sure...

Martin Rinehart John, I am also a GoodReads member. That suggests but doesn't prove...

Christopher D. Ochs | 24 comments I'd have to agree. I NEVER got these emails, until I posted on 4 goodreads "Reviewer looking for..." threads.
Lesson - CHECK their 'websites' first. Some "offer to review" posts link to review sites that haven't filed a review since 2017. And look sketchy to boot.

John Espie | 5 comments Ah... yes. I had somebody from goodreads hit me up for a review via their messaging system. I replied through my actual email becaue the person said she didn't check in at goodreads very often and never heard back... but then starting getting this spam.

S. Kaeth (skaeth) | 14 comments I just started getting these emails after posting to a couple R&R type threads. I'm guessing people are scraping these threads for email addresses (which frankly I should have expected before).
