These are the ones who change over the course of the story, as the name suggests. The change could be positive, often evolving to become better or wiser or it could be negative, as many villains are made through a shift from good to evil.
How important this quality is for characters in the story, according to you? Do you think, protagonists are more interesting when the author provides them a dynamic quality (preferably positive)? How does it shape the characters and the story?
Almost 90% of my fav characters are dynamic characters. Whether to better or to worse, I kinda like them more. They're so much intresting and deep. Also it is more realistic. We don't stay the same persons forever, how do we expect fictional characters to do so?

I agree with you all. Also, if there's no development, I can easily guess what the character will do next. If they change, I get the twists and turns that I love!
Character development is usually a good thing. Although I don't like when an author makes a character change at the drop of a hat to make the plot work.
My favorite books and shows and movies all seem to be the ones ABOUT character development. And honestly, that's really all I see in well-written fantasy books. I think all the plots and features are add-ons to keep it interesting, but seeing character development is what I read for.
