They made it. The tree house wasn't nothing much, made of oakwood and a simple square. Dante loved it. "This was my childhood in one word." He said.
Ace was grinning from ear to ear, and tugging on Caspian’s skirt.
“Mommy, I want one! How come there aren’t trees at our house?” Cas unlatches her, keeping her focus on Dante.
“Wow.. it’s lovely, honestly.” She chuckles.

Danny nodded. "That was the biggest lie you have ever told." He began to trek through the grass, making big steps.
Ace followed behind him, almost like his built in best friend. Cas followed slower, looking around and taking it all in.
“Afraid of heights, not of trees.” Cas clarified, crossing her arms in defense.
(BAHAHAHA-
NOT CAS BEING AFRAID OF HEIGHTS-)
NOT CAS BEING AFRAID OF HEIGHTS-)
He clasped a hand over his mouth. "Oh my SaTaN." Dante snorted. He placed his hands on his knees, and wheezed. "You... you..." He laughed even harder.
Cas growled, her arms still crossed. She glared daggers at Dante.
“It’s not funny.“
“It’s not funny.“
Dante coughed and looked at her. As soon as he saw her face, he started laughing again. "The most powerful witch I know is afraid of heights."
“You’ll be afraid of me if you keep laughing.” Cas snarled, tapping her foot against the ground like an angry mother.
Cas rolled her eyes, but blushed just a bit, taking his hand tightly.
Dante poured her forward, and there they were. And possibly, the ladder that duke, Christopher, and Danny had built as children was there. He nodded at it. "Up you go."
Cas reluctantly went up, her hands shaking as she climbed higher. She pulled herself up to the deck of the treehouse, breathing shakily.
“Stake’s sake.” She murmured, eyes wide.
“Stake’s sake.” She murmured, eyes wide.
Dante followed after her, Ace on his back. He knudged Cas' body with his toe, then pulled a lever. Everything snapped in place. Multiple gates snapped over the deck, and a tarp descended down, shrouding them in dark. "Aenia is more... advanced." He explained.
“Because Aenia DIDNT spend half of its time in the darkness and war— only of recent us that started to happen— they were able to progress far beyond than what we would imagine. It’s quite impressive, actually.”
Dante blushed slightly. He wondered if Cas ever saw this side of him; the dorky side, the one that was obsessed with science and books and how to figure this and that out.
𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐶𝑎𝑠 𝘩𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑎 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑜 𝑏𝑒𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑡𝘩𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝘩𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑖𝑛, He thought. 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑔𝑢𝑦𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛’𝑡 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒, 𝑚𝑢𝑐𝘩 𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑑!
He stepped to the side, flourishing into the hallway of the treehouse. “After you, m’lady.”

"You seem very interested in the history of your country. You'll have to tell me what kind've evolution they had to make someone like you." Caspian hummed, winking at Dante before trotting down the hall. She was terribly pink.
Dante’s cheeks went red. He closes his eyes slowly for a moment, before opening them again and following after Cas.
He NEVER blushed before he met this woman, Satan damn her.
“Actually, I believe my mother was some Higher Class demon. Since, you know, all witches are made from the combination of human and demon. And my father for fucking sure was human. It also helps that there are only 10 other Infernalis in the world, all for different elements, too.”
And half of them died thanks to some mysterious prophecy that they got mid way into their life.
But Dante would rather DIE than tell Cas about his prophecy.

Alexandre Von Fura, a man who was currently living in hiding. A powerful warlock, but a nomad at best. You couldn’t tell it just by looking at him.
“So your mother was clearly the demon in the relationship, then.” Dante said.
He meant it as a joke, because it was clearly obvious that Eleonora was simply a human who was a little TOO self aware of her existence in this vast world, and how much of a prey she was for different creatures.
So she got power.
In other sentiments, it actually would’ve been quite admirable, but the way she got power- and actually physically MEETING Eleonora and fighting her- affected the empathy.
“Do you want to know about your father?” Dante asked, moving past Cas to reach the kitchen. It was quite dusty, considering it’s been 16 straight years since Dante was last in the treehouse, but him and Cas would make it work.
If they didn’t fuck their aggressions out of one another by then.
Dante looked at Cas and smiled. He noticed that she was finally breaking down her walls for him, finally TALKING to him. She took his advice.
Maybe he should take hers.

She brushed her fingers over the scar on her throat, but her smile didn’t falter.
“I do. But for all I know, my mother wiped him out. I’ve met my brothers father, but only briefly. I know that he used to call my mother his muse. He was in love with her, completely. When I was little, my Mother used to tell me I was the greatest thing he’d ever made. Now I know she was just buttering me up for that ritual, but, I think he did love me. I think he does. But this isn’t about me, I apologize. I’ve been talking too much.” She flashed a toothy grin and spun around the kitchen, her skirt billowing out around her before settling down and brushing her legs.
Dante rolled his eyes. Hard.
“Dare you have the AUDACITY to talk about yourself. I enjoy it. A lot more than you think.”
He shimmied himself over to where Caspian was. “But you are right. We should probably get this whole ‘I can read the stars and shit to find out where your dead father is’ thing off the ground. Or, at the least, clean up because this treehouse is dirty as hell.”
It really was. Dante was surprised as it is to see that only one animal had taken root in the house, and it looked to be a.. wererat? He couldn’t really tell.
The skeletons of wererats were very ambiguous.

She sat cross legged despite the fact she wore a dress, and drew sigils on the wood in white chalk. Then some on her arms. She lit a few candles, placing them at the edges of the circle.
“Sit across from me. And if something goes wrong, don’t panic. I know what I’m doing. Just let me handle this, let me help you for once, alright?” She hummed, holding out her hands to him.
“I’m supposed to help you always,” Dante grumbled, “your supposed to be relaxed.”
But he did as told. He sat in front of Cas, and stared at her in her eyes.
Which was a lot easier said than done.
He felt like he wanted to take her right then and there, on those nasty ass floorboards that probably would give their bare skin asbestos.
And it didn’t help that she was wearing a dress.
It made it worse, actually.
“Okay, Ms Lamendola. Or Infernalis? Do you still retain my last name?”
Dante realized his mistake as soon as he said it, and closed his eyes.

Dante realized his mistake as soon as he said it, and closed his eyes.

Nope. Her mind was completely blank, not dirty at all, it never had been never would be. She was a holy child.
You’re a witch. Ain’t no fucking way.
Her face was pink and she was trying to focus on Dante, definitely just his eyes. Her chest was rising and falling in a stupidly erratic rhythm.
Dante’s eye twitched. Fuck.
Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck—
Why. WHY did Cas decide to wear a dress? Why would she do this to him knowing damn well—
Fuck.
Dante grabbed her hands and interlaced their fingers. In simple witch magic, it was known for possibly making a stronger connection, or transferring magic. He wasn’t sure which one they were doing right now, and Honest to Satan, he didn’t care.
Dante found his eyes dropping down, down, down.. before they snapped right back up to face Cas’.
Thank Satan that Acelopina wasn’t here, and was off probably throwing Bloo.
“So.” Dante said, softly.

The world around them shifted. Caspian's hair had lifted off of her shoulders. All the sigils were glowing, and they were surrounded by stars.
"Go ahead, ask them. I'll tell you what they say." She tells Dante, voice echoing in the air. Her eyes were pure white, and her lips were parted.
Dante’s mouth was Ortes slightly in awe. He’d seen Cas use her power before, but this?
This was something beautiful and unnatural all at once.
He closed his eyes and began to speak. “Whoever is out there listening, I just need to know: is my father alive?”
As soon as the words left his lips, he felt the weight of them, the pain it might possibly carry.

“They say yes. He’s been looking for you, he wants to tell you he’s okay.” She murmurs, cupping his face with one hand. She didn’t even look like herself, smiling and soft.
Dante looked deeply into Cas’ eyes. The way they stared at him, the piercing in them, the way she smiled with her eyes. He felt himself leaning forward… and before he could even think, he smack his lips against hers.

Her magic stopped, her hair fell down her shoulders and she was just.. a woman again. No glowing white eyes or anything, just Caspian Lamendola, which made her a bit insecure.
Kissin was great.
Kissing Caspian Lamendola was FUCKING AMAZING.
There was a difference between the two.
As soon as he kissed her, Dante felt the magic around him shudder and drop, but her didn’t care. He didn’t care that his father was possibly alive and didn’t come to him all these years while he suffered and almost died—
Okay, maybe he cared a BIT.
But Caspian meant more.
Caspian, the wonderful woman he was kissing right now, who made him feel so bad and good all at the same time and FUCK.

Well, infernal.
It started a fire inside her and every time he pushed into her with his mouth sparks went flying. She wasn't thinking, how could she be thinking?
Well she was thinking a little bit, but all of it was scattered and stupid.
All she was thinking about was how she needed to be closer to him and that this wasn't enough she needed to be closer and she was in his lap and her dress might've ripped a little.
But it didn't matter. She was.. happy. She was enjoying herself, in this dusty treehouse. She was smiling through the kiss, her teeth grazing his lips for just a moment before she kissed him properly again.
Hesitantly, Dante pulled back.
Somehow, Cas was in his lap and he just—
Fuckkkkkkk.
He stared at Cas before placing his forehead on hers. “I love you so much.” He said softly, barely over a whisper.
His hand was on her thigh, and he so badly wanted to take her right now and there, but only if she wanted it. Only if she NEEDED him as badly as he needed her.
“Are you willing?” He asked softly, staring at her, wanting to kiss her again, wanting to… hug her. Be close to her. Find their balance again.
Grow old and dumb with her.

"I love you too." She whispered back, wrapping her arms around him. Her heart was pounding; she could hear it in her ears.
"Yes, you hopeless sap, of course I am. You drive me insane." She was laughing. Saints, how her face looked when she laughed. Bright, excited. She looked like she was made of stars.
She was his star.
He should’ve realized that a long time ago, but his dumbass instead broke her time and time again.
Sure, you could argue that Cas did too, but it didn’t matter.
He regretted deeply.
Dante looked at Cas once more, before kissing her again.
This time the kiss went deeper. Maybe deeper than any other kiss they had shared before, even the one that had the day they met.
When they decided to fuck one another 15 minutes after meeting.
Maybe that’s where it went wrong. Everything had happened too fast, too quickly for neither one of them to deal with. First it was Ace, then Eleonora, then Delilah.
But maybe it just made their love stronger.
Dante pushed Cas on the floor, and he kissed her intently.

Dante pushed Cas on the floor, and he kissed her intently.

What, three times now?
It all blurred together at this point, and none of it mattered. She couldn't find it in her to resent him anymore. He was holding her. She was under him, and he was holding her. He was warm and gentle. He touched her like she was made of glass.
Dante touched Caspian like she was made of butterfly wings. Like she was something he'd never seen before.
She wrapped her legs around his waist, feeling her skirt fall back and pool around her thighs.
Caspian clung to him like she would never let go and Dante felt like he was going to lose it right then and there. He pulled apart from her and looked at her. “Are you sure?” He asked.
He had to make sure.
He HAD to, because once they did it there was no going back, no more fights, no more ultimatums.
They would love each other properly, like they should.
But their love was a complicated mess and that’s why he loved it. It was chaotic and messy, twisted and broken.
But it was THEIRS.
No one else’s.
He had to make sure.

"Yes, for stake's sake. I love you. Stop making me doubt myself." She giggled, kissing the tip of his nose. She looked at Dante Infernalis like he was the greatest thing she'd ever seen, like he was art.
She looked at him like he was her muse.
Dante wiped her tears away with the tip of his thumb.
“Don’t cry, love.” He said. Then he started to pull at her dress. Tug by tug, her dress came off, and Dante was exposed to Caspain sun kissed skin once more.
She was gorgeous.
The sight of her, of her waiting for him, made him catch his breath.
He loved her so damn much.

“I’m so sorry.” She whispered to Dante, smile lingering on her lips. And she meant it. She was sorry. For how angry she was, how secretive she’d been.
“I’m more sorry.” Dante said, letting out a laugh. “Seems like to me that we say sorry too damn much.”
He looked at Cas before laying his mouth on her.
She tasted wonderful, like fire and ice and stars and galaxies and he loved it. He loved it and her so damn much. Dante flicked his tongue against her before his mouth started to move, sucked and rubbing.

Joking.
Joking.
