Share your thoughts on lesbophobia and recommend books, movies, shows, etc with F/F rep!

This is my section 😈 *evil laugh*

Ok so here are some w|w main character recs: crier's war, the henna wars, the erasure initiative, undercover princess (well there's a love triangle but hopefully the main character ends up with the girl), you know I'm no good (ok it's not really a lesbian mc but there is a lesbian moment 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️)
Here are some lesbian side character recs: parachutes, Legendborn, the cruel prince
Here are some w|w books (I'm pretty sure they're w|w) on my physical tbr: the afterward, the falling in love montage, the prom
There are probably more good lesbian books that I can't think of but those are the ones I can remember now
Edit: also as I descended is a great thriller/horror

Ok now im going to talk about lesbophobia:
I feel like a lot of lesbophobia is directed towards celebrities, sportspeople and also non binary/trans people who identify as lesbian.
Celebrities: If a celebrity comes out, they will not only have pressure from people around them but from the media.
Sportspeople (specifically women but also non binary people): They are meant to look ideal and attractive to men so if they're lesbian they may lose a lot of their fame. It's unfair that they're treated differently- they should be liked because they're good at sports, not because they're attractive/attracted to men.
Non-binary people/trans women: They are often not accepted in the lesbian community and people might not want to date them, which is totally unfair. They are lesbian if they identify as lesbian and no one should take away their sexual identity.
Also, there is a lot of pressure from parents to be the perfect straight daughter. Parents should learn to accept their child.

Thank you for the recs! And I completely agree with everything you said, especially the last part. I've seen so much gatekeeping when it comes to the word lesbian and it makes me so sad. There is no clear terminology for non binary people when it comes to their sexual or romantic attraction so I feel like if non binary people want to say they're lesbian, then they can and they are completely valid.

I'm also curious of your thoughts on bi/pan lesbians. I don't identify as lesbian so I don't feel my opinion is the ultimate opinion that decides what's right/wrong on this but can't people be biromantic and homosexual so bi lesbian would describe them? Or am I misunderstanding? I've seen so much debate about this on twitter and I'd love everyone's thoughts on this topic.

I fully support bi/pan lesbians and don't think they should be given the hate they are often subjected to.

I think that bi/pan lesbians are definitely valid. They deserve to identify as what they want and we should not question their sexuality. My friend, who is pan-romantic, calls herself lesbian or gay and I think that this is completely fine and that her sexuality is a valid one because it is her decision and it does make sense that you can be bi/pan romantic and homosexual. They do not deserve hate.
