The Joy Trip Project is in the finishing stages of creating a new page on its website that you might find useful. Many of the members of this group are interested in exploring the topic of diversity, equity and inclusion in outdoor recreation and environmental conservation. As you can imagine there are a LOT of articles and information dedicated to this particular subject. And in an effort to curate and share as many of them as possible we are happy to host The Anti-Racism In The Outdoors Resource Guide.

https://joytripproject.com/joy-trip-p...

Compiled by Don Rakow, Cornell University & Laura Brown, University of Connecticut- this resource guide is designed for faculty, staff, students, extension educators, outdoor advocates, volunteers and community leaders as allies of black, indigenous, and people of color in the outdoors. The page is live and available for viewing, but not yet widely promoted. Before we make a broad announcement to the general public, we're looking to get feedback from potential users who might make suggestions on how to better organize the information or provide references to articles or materials that are not yet included.

Give it a look and let us know what you think in the comments.

Laura Derks | 2 comments So sad--I registered for the call twice and somehow got the time wrong for tonight's call. I have so enjoyed getting to be familiar with his books and his work. Hoping the conversation was recorded? Thanks, Laura

Liz Thank you for sharing! I'm sharing this with our local climbing organization (LCO), the Wisconsin Climbers Association, to review. We have recently launched a Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion page and would love to share this resource there, but I see it's not being widely promoted yet. Let me know when it's OK to publicly add to that page - our website will be getting a facelift this year and traffic should increase more after that, but right now we see a few hundred visits a month.

So glad you like it Elizabeth. Thanks for your interest in sharing it. We're close in on a final version that we hope to post shortly. We should be making and broader announcement soon.

Tara | 1 comments It is a very comprehensive list! Well done!
However, the presentation of the resources could be a little more visually appealing. Can each content area be a separate page for example? It is so long to scroll through, even with the heading bar included after each section. The heading bar itself is a little too bright with the yellow background. Could the section links be embedded in a related image, like a stack of books for the Books section/link? I know it doesn't have to be pretty but having it more visually appealing overall would professionalize the page.
I am looking forward to the official announcement, which I hope I did not miss. :)

I agree with Tara, it is a wonderful resource but hard to read for your average person looking for some resources (read: skimmer). The yellow highlighter color is a bit bright. My initial suggestion would be at least more space between the resources and to break them up with images, graphics, and some bold font (if possible) to draw the eye.
