message 6: by Patrick (new)

Patrick Doyle | 47 comments I read it when I was about sixteen. Found it in local used bookstore. I knew he was forbidden (good catholic family) and hid it in my room. But I ended up being disappointed because I didn't understand a thing. What was corn-holing, I asked myself?

Martyna Chudzik | 1 comments I just finished “Hurt/comfort” by Weronika Łodyga
(Polish name) here, in my so horrible homophobic country, it’s really rare to find book with no heterosexual relationship:) I’m glad that I found it ❤️

message 11: by Tim (new)

Tim | 152 comments Reading the amazing life of Lost Prophet: The Life and Times of Bayard Rustin by John D'Emilio. I have it on ebook but a hardcopy just came into the library thankfully. The longer books are easier for me in a physical copy.

message 12: by Cloé (new)

Cloé I’m like 35% through The Maze Runner

Mauro Sala (salamaro) | 35 comments I am halfway through The Affirmation by Christopher Priest and at the same time I am reading Date & Time by Phil Kaye.

message 14: by Kesa (new)

Kesa (mastoureh) I am reading Hard-boiled Wonderland und das Ende der Welt by Haruki Murakami for over a week now but I am still on page 100 because in this house it is almost impossible to find a suitable time and place to read.

message 15: by Alan (new)

Alan Miles | 1 comments The Lord Won’t Mind by Gordon Merrick.

message 17: by Stephen (new)

Stephen (havan) | 548 comments Best thing I've read lately was Take My Body by K.A. Merikan

On one level it's a body swap fantasy, on another it's a bit of a revenge fantasy. Weird thing is that it features a plot-line that evokes empathy, and looks at personal growth, self awareness, and self acceptance.

Not bad for a book that sorta had me for its sexy (if a bit kinky) bedroom aspects.

message 19: by Tim (new)

Tim | 152 comments Started All Boys Aren't Blue by George M. Johnson on audio this morning while walking the dogs. It's excellent based on what I've heard so far - the dogs got an extended walk so that I could get to the end of the first chapter.

The second-person "you" took getting used to, but made sense later.

Indeed, John. It's not a gripping read, is it! ... I've been told that the narration is so vacuous in order to represent the mood of the time. Still ...

Melissa Eisenmeier (carpelibrumbooks) | 70 comments I'm reading The Spanish Pearl.

message 30: by Mauro (new)

Mauro Sala (salamaro) | 35 comments I have finished: The Affirmation by Christopher Priest a weird book I am not sure I liked, the beautiful Date & Time by Phil Kye and the disappointing Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin (this one read in the Italian translation: Kentukis).
Now I am reading something totally different, an Italian classic: Cristo si è fermato a Eboli by Carlo Levi.
