The Procrastinators Book Club discussion

Welcome to the The Battle of the Labyrinth Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on June 18th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each day we will be reading by chapters or page numbers. Page numbers are an approximation based on the hardcover or paperback that is the default on Goodreads. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

I am a little behind, but hopefully I'll finish tomorrow.

Once again starting strong with Percy managing to destroy a school and get (I assume) expelled before the year even starts!

Hera is kinda shitty for being like "you have one wish" and then being the most unhelpful by turning around and saying that they can already navigate the labyrinth

I absolutely died at Percy beating Briares in rock paper scissors by playing gun. Like I saw it coming a mile away but it was hilarious.

People actually dying in the battle at camp fucked me up a little. Like even though they were minor characters it just shows more of the books getting darker.

In this book Nico officially becomes the poster child of emos and I love him for it. (hide spoiler)]

I'm sorry I'm running behind! we went out for the weekend and time got away from me. im off work the next few days, so I'll be playing catch up!

Briares was such a great character, I'm so glad he ended up coming back to help them out!

Agreed, things feel much more serious now. It was hard to face that, especially along with the general emotional turmoil going on, and poor Percy's confusion.

I felt so bad for Calypso! I just want her to have a happy ending too. Don't think I'd really want it to be with Percy necessarily, but I felt for her character.

Nico definitely grew on me. Honorable kid, even if it took him a bit to get there. Minos was kind of an unexpected bad guy, I liked his role and the Daedalus reveal. And Luke! That was something that I didn't see the signs about beforehand at all- I'm wondering if he truly is beyond saving.

It was really great when Briares showed up to help!

Same! Calypso really didn't deserve to be stuck on the island like that. And I second that I hope better things are in store for her.

Yes all the surprises with Minos being a bad guy and Daedalus being Quintus and Pan 'dying' were wild!!
