Lost all our members too. Only found this by somehow finding Bauer through a Google search then clicked on his friends, clicked on (R)ob and came to here. Gonna put something on Facebook.

At first i thought it was a bug with Goodreads but now im not so sure.

Anyone friends with Ness (to invite)?, Adam, Deckard, etc.

Yea I'm not sure what happened but I suspect the forum was deleted intentionally - by an admin, or Goodreads themselves I'm not sure. But I can assure you it wasn't me.

This has really pissed me off...

I've made Glass moderator. I can add one or two others - so speak up if you want to be made mod? I'll add people that won't delete the forum :-). I was thinking John and that's probably enough probably. The forum is also currently completely public to attract new blood if that's OK with you guys?

Hi all. This is all a bit odd but thanks for the invite here R. I'll have a look after work to see how we can get folk back in here.

I've added John now as mod. So that's three mods. I changed the forum picture too - just quickly so it doesn't look so bland. The picture can be changed and let me know if you want to change the forum name to something less generic - I created it all very quickly.

In other news, last night I picked up where I left off with Mass Effect and the insanity run I'd started. It's hard.

Morning all. A bit of a bizzare day yesterday. Hopefully we can get everyone back that was on the old forum before it disappeared into thin air.

Gaming wise I've just been playing multiplayer recently. The next gen patch is out for Doom Eternal next week so that'll be my next game.

I did do something dramatic yesterday - other than set this forum up in a hurry. I drilled a hole through a wall so I can hard wire my Series X to the router lol. I mean it worked fine on WiFi but now I've moved my office downstairs my gaming set-up is so close to the router (with only a wall inbetween) it seemed an opportunity not to be missed for the sake of a hole. Might help when everyone else in the house is streaming Netflix.

Im still pissed from what hapenned.

Finished Amnesia Rebirth last night.
The ending was good IF the game didnt make an auto save right at the point where you can chose one of the 3 endings.
I ended up doing all three and now, while i finished the game, i dont have a sense of closure cause i didnt finish it with my own ending.
It was my fault but i think its a stupid choice. Its great for trophies but stupid for its own story.
Anyway, i absolutely loved the game. It was never boring and the story was very exciting and well written (although a bit simplistic).
There were some genuine scary moments in the Amnesia style.

I give it a solid 8,5/10.

Regarding Cyberpunk....haha. No, im not gonna get it.
Its a game i will haw only for less then 15 bucks.

I may be starting Dragons Dogma tonight.

Very weird. Personally I blame Andromeda. And a bit pointless because like the weeds we are, we just sprout right back up again.

Currently playing the new Ratchet and Clank, but will say more when I've played a bit more.

My money's on one of the mods/admins or whatever was actually lead creative director on ME Andromeda and has completely deluded themselves into thinking they did a good job. They are in such a sorry state that even mild criticism causes them to implode. And of course to continue living in their fantasy they have to delete every existence of negativity towards their baby and unfortunately we ended up victims of their insanity

Btw, did you guys read the news that there will be a new Dead Space game?
i dont know the details but i dont know if i should be excited or worried that someone is going to ruin yet another franchise.

Dead Space already got ruined so I'd be excited. The worse has already happened and if this new game is like the first two then it's a bonus.

I played a bit more Mass Effect last night. I've saved it just before heading down to the hot labs on Noveria. I found this to be one of the harder sections of the game so in for a treat on insanity diff tonight. There's a timed it bit where you need to make it through a room full of rachni. You can't sit back and take them out so will need to neural shock, warp, over charge them and then just run like the wind. Then later the battle with Benezia and her asari commandos.

Although i did somewhat enjoyed DS3 tbh.
Despite the micro transactions and the action set pieces i do remember liking the vibe of the game.
But again, im probably the only gamer who prefered DS 1 over 2 so i have no credibility. lol

Yeah Dead Space 3 compared to the first Dead Space - pretty similar to the cliff ME drove itself off, though not quite as horrific ;)

I'd give a new Dead Space the benefit of the doubt but at this point definitely wouldn't be getting overexcited. I'd be happy with the first one remastered, even a half assed one would do

Glad to see this place back on its feet after only one day. Not sure if there is anyone else missing? BTW the forum was deleted intentionally is my best bet - no conclusive proof but a sequence of events of being kicked out of the forum (with the previous forum going private first), the forum then actually being deleted and then a previous admin that was on my friends list unfriending me leads me to think the forum was intentionally deleted. Suffice to say I think we should move on, forget about it - but be careful who we make a moderator. I’m sure everyone here is totally trustworthy but unfortunately one person wasn’t in the last deleted forum and is no longer anywhere to be seen so I believe their goodreads account is deleted or private.

I second that.
Lets move one and hopefully this will never happen again.

We lost 2 years of posting out of the blue, specially that post where Deck clearly said Andromeda was the best of the ME franchise and he now he has no proof otherwise.

R try to be more careful about breaking peoples hearts in future, you got the whole forum shut down ;)

Another theory is they were so jealous of Glass' witty comments they couldn't take it ;)

BTW. Anyone invited Error - and was it one other guy off the american forum that I can't remember the name of. They always brought good stuff to the old forum.

On topic, I've been back on xbox 360 games which load in 1 second on Series X. Had many games for years and never played them. Call of Juarez Gunslinger is actually good fun. Nearly done with it and then I think Battleblock Theater...

I started Doom Eternal but have paused until patch comes. Psyched about all the games coming to Game Pass. It also means I don't have too much temptation to get a PS5.

Hello all. Thank you for getting our cozy little corner of the internet back online again, and thanks to equinox and Glass for leaving me a trail of crumbs. Even if the old forum was deleted intentionally, it really is not helping my growing paranoia about cyber security...

Anywho, lots more Empire of Sin, started a new Dark Souls 3 run, and put an hour or so into that new Dark Alliance game when it released last night.

@ Deckard - how are you liking Planet Coaster? I had a great time with it until I got stumped on later game scenario; building a park around some race track.

Oh dear. I was hoping the deletion of the old place was an accident or Goodreads realised we weren't talking books. If it was deliberate then I hope he's OK as it's a strange thing to do.

There was another guy from the US who occasionally posted, hancock. He posts so infrequently I'm not sure he's still active though.

If the forum is deleted again then we know it wasn't intentional among the previous admins - I suspect it was though. TBH I'd be happy for my previous friend that unfriended me to rejoin us - just not as moderator. Not worth the risk again.

I actually lurk here quite regularly....I just don’t post all that often because my gaming time has decreased so much over the years that I don’t have too much to add to most of the convos. It may sound weird to some but I have actually been doing a bit more retro gaming lately, I don’t know exactly why I’m interested in that again, but I’ve been enjoying it.
