A Mirror Above the Abyss is a criminal and political thriller based on real-life tragic events. Debunking their well-known official versions it shows, in fact, that these global events happened differently.
For example, it was not Lee Harvey Oswald who killed President Kennedy, but a professional sniper, a woman, who was carrying out an unusual order. The man who planned and carried out 9/11 terror attacks in New York was just one kilometer away from crumbling skyscrapers. The assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II was prepared in order to hide multibillion bank scams, and the pontiff knew about it. These and other significant events of the last sixty years are seen as interconnected, with the trail leading to a criminal syndicate ... consisting of one person, and from him to the highest political establishment and to the secret services of the United States and other countries.

Recently, Max Malin, an American journalist of Russian origin, could get hold of some archives which were thought to have "disappeared" (just as those individuals who paid too much attention to the tragic events of September 11, 2001). Exciting events and mysterious coincidences, which many prefer to ignore, help the hero to discover dark shadows from the past. Malin’s complex and risky investigation discovers both the perpetrators and the sponsors of the major political assassination of the 20th century, the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York, the assassination attempt on John Paul II, and the murder of an international banker. The novel’s action is set in our time as well as during the tragic events in 1963, 1981, 1999, and 2001. The book ends completely unpredictably.
The novel’s protagonists – major politicians, billionaires, Vatican officials or leaders of national and global crime syndicates – are mostly real, recognizable persons, presented under their real names. Those that were invented by the author act as connecting links in the chain of events. Some names were slightly changed, but they are easy to guess.
