Book Nerds Unite discussion

This month, we're going to try something new!! I am so excited, and I'm hoping it will work out well!

The past two months (June & July), we have been reading 3 books: one MG, one YA, and one Adult novel.

Starting this month (August), we will now be reading 4 books: MG, YA, Adult, and the choice–reading book!

~How It Will Work~

1. Themes will still be in place for the MG, YA, and Adult books.
2. Each month, the mods will decide if we want to read a certain genre, author, theme, etc. Some months, we will decide; other months, you will get to have your say. If that is the case, we will create a poll for you to decide the specific genre, author, theme, etc.
3. Then, book nominations will open for all 4 books!

I know this kind of sounds confusing, but I hope it will start to make more sense as time goes on!

Themed BOTMs

Themed BOTMs include the three genre–based books: MG, YA, and Adult. These three BOTMs must fit the monthly theme!

NOTE: When you suggest Adult books, please include ones that are not "New Adult," so that those who may want to read an adult book without a lot of "adult content" can do so.

August BOTM Themes:

Choice Read BOTM

The Choice Read BOTM can be any book that fits the monthly category. It does NOT need to fit in any genre (e.g. YA) or into the monthly theme.

The August Choice Read BOTM is RETELLINGS!!

Nominate any book that is retelling.

NOTE: This cannot be a loose retelling. In other words, I should be able to tell that it is a retelling of a well–known story. Therefore, A Court of Thorns and Roses cannot qualify as a retelling!

For the middle grade one, there is a cute mg book called counting to perfect. It is a relatively short story, but that leaves more room for the others to be read! And one that fits into (between mg and ya) and retellings, is the frozen twisted tale, a retelling for older audiences about the movie frozen.
