How much of a book do read before you can decide to DNF?

Martin Rinehart There are two situations.

If the book is not to your taste, a polite 'no thank you' to the author is good.

If the book promises a reward that matches your taste, but does not deliver, an honest 'does not deliver' review is warranted. That will be something specific enough so the author could take action, of course.
