Jeffrey Corkern | 9 comments Hello, one and all. My name is Jeff Corkern----and I am not the least bit religious.

But I am convinced souls are physically real things. (Actually encountered one once---cat-soul dived through my chest.) And the existence of souls can be proven using the tools of science, logical deduction and experimental proof.

I have written a book containing the proof and demonstrating a number of ways the existence of eternal souls is evident in human behavior, among other things. The book is quite short, easy to read, and completely, totally free. (Subject to the vagaries of Amazon. They are known to randomly put a price on permafree books. I've already had to set it back down to $0.00 once. If you're interested, get it quick while it's still free.)

The Nine Point Five Theses The Existence Of Souls Deduced By The Scientific Method by Jeffrey Corkern

Herewith some of the Amazon book description:

Do you want to know what’s going to happen to you when you die? I can show you the logically deduced answer.

Do you want to know if you really, truly do have a soul? Do you want to know what you will experience in the afterlife? Do you want to know where your soul goes after the afterlife? Analytical chemist Jeff Corkern has thirty years’ experience studying cause and effect. Now he shows how the scientific method and basic principles of logic prove beyond any doubt that the human soul is real.

THE NINE POINT FIVE THESES: THE EXISTENCE OF SOULS DEDUCED BY THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD conclusively demonstrates human beings—in fact, all the Universe’s sentients—are eternal beings with eternal souls and always have been. This demonstration is done in strict accordance with the scientific method, using cold, objective logic and reason, and without any demand for faith or citing one religious text, using plain, everyday language. When you have finished this book, you will know what is going to happen to you when you die. And that death is nothing to be feared (for good people) and never has been.
In THE NINE POINT FIVE THESES: THE EXISTENCE OF SOULS DEDUCED BY THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD you’ll discover:
• That you and all the other sentients in the Universe must be eternal beings with eternal souls, for a profoundly practical, logical reason: It keeps you from blowing the Universe the Hell up.
• That scientific detection of souls and reincarnation will lead to the absolute, utter, permanent, irrevocable destruction of all evil on Earth.
• The correct definition of good and evil—that good, moral behavior is smart behavior, and evil behavior is stupid behavior
• That you and all the other sentients in the Universe reincarnate.
• One possible way of building a soul detector, an electronic gadget that can detect souls.
• That your life and everyone else’s has meaning, meaning like you wouldn’t believe, all the meaning you could ever want.
• That certain types of animals have souls too, and the profound reason this is so.
• That you have been acting, all your life, like you have a soul—whether you believe you do or not.
• That the meaning of life—something that has been argued about since humans first appeared on Earth—is to get smarter.
• That you and all the other sentients in the Universe have totally free will.
• That the Universe’s purpose is to evolve intelligent sentients.
• That there is a negative relationship between emotion drugs and intelligence.

This book will prove to you, in clear, everyday language and with simple logic all of these things, as well as what will happen to you when you die. And afterwards.

The love of God is a law of physics.

That statement will smash the entire world, one day.

If you were hoping to attract readers to your book with that dissertation of yours, then think again.

It will possibly attract people who already have similar beliefs or who have an interest in logical proofs of religious concepts. It's an endeavor with a long (and some would say honorable) history, even if it hasn't settled much of anything. One philosopher (I can't recall his name) who wrote a book on the history of proofs of God said in his introduction that although such proofs have never been conclusive, they have done a lot to advance the tools and techniques of logical argument.

Dale, what really pricked me in Jeffrey's post was the sentence 'The love of God is a law of physics', which is an utter non-sense and has zero logic supporting it.

I can agree with you 100%. I've been re-reading 'The Holographic Universe' by Michael Talbot (published way back in 1991).

He reports the same - Model - of existence that Jeffrey does - so quotes David Bohm a lot along with other physicists in the attempt to seduce folks into accepting Quantum Mechanics as the means by which humans create 'this' uni-verse - with the vibrations of their own consciousness-and-matter - during many reincarnations, etc.

As Bohm puts it - thinking along those lines draws the Holographic Model from 'the implicate order' into the 'explicate order'. Voila! Ya got yer-self a reality - that's actually an "illusion"! (I thought there was another psychological word for that state of mind besides 'scientific theory', which I'd use - except I'm trying to behave myself.)

I'm sure this blending of religion and science isn't new to you, Michel, so what I wanted to point out for anyone else reading this is thread is that this theory - and its practices - makes 'man' the 'god' of 'this' uni-verse (among all of the other multiple dimensions Quantum physicists - dream - up ), and what they're promoting is the same points Jeffrey makes in his bullet list.

So - yes, 'the love of god is the law of physics' - from the 'mental' angle that mixes Quantum Mechanics with (what I call), Quantum Reality and attempts to play 'god' with the latter - while spouting 'science' makes it all acceptable and credible - while hiding their goal is to reach 'divinity' - through just another form of 'alchemy'.

It also condones transhumanism, the integration of man with machine, because 'it's all just an illusion' - even when flesh is exchanged for metal and wires in this 'totally impersonal' transaction between 'man' and 'omnipotent energy'...

Am I allowed to say the twisting of such constructs qualifies as cult tactics without getting kicked off the thread for hate speech? In self-defense I'd also like to add that I'm not religious or spiritual either, but that doesn't mean I can't see a Bait and Switch pitch when I see one.

Therefore - I have a completely different version of Reality, but that discussion will have to wait until I get around to writing my book on the subject and then starting a thread on the Bio-Logical evidence it presents - in opposition to this - mere 'Model'... :o)

Possibly. Or maybe it depends on how one defines one's terms. There is an idea out there that nature is an expression of God's will. From that perspective, it could be said that the fundamental physical forces are tangible expressions of the love of God. "The love of God is a law of physics" kind of turns that on its head, of course, but maybe it's just an attempt (however imperfect) to express the same thing?

Most of these matters must be expressed in metaphor anyway, so taking them too literally is a mistake. I haven't read this book, so I can't comment on the author's intent. He does make some statements with which I disagree, but I'd probably want to read it before critiquing or criticizing it.

Thank you for having an open mind. That's all I ask for.

Yeah, I know how it sounds. The question of life after death can be rigorously solved by the tools of science, theory and experiment, and the rigorous scientific answer is going to be people are eternal beings with eternal souls and always have been.

I know it sounds impossible. It's not, though. It's actually quite easy.

Considered simply as an exercise in logic, the question of the existence of souls is entirely trivial.

Wmba Dams | 136 comments It is easy to prove logically that God exists. After that what you deduce about God and about Jesus is more weighing evidence like a jury does than it is about using logic.

As to souls, I doubt you used a true scientific method but rather used one more like fibbing Fauci did with covid.

As to evidence:

Took cat to vet
went to eat at mcD
feel cat standing in front of me at McD
look up but do not see him
then he circles me 3 times
and then flies off to west at 30degrees at high speed
get home
answering machine tells me cat died from anesthesia

our cat was pure love
always had wondered if he were an angel
