Just a FYI for both the readers and writers in the group.
So there are most likely 1001 fairy tale Kickstarters, but this one is done by Zombies Need Brains, which has a good track record They usually do one every year, usually to fund three paperback sci-fi/fantasy collections.
This year the collections include Shattering the Glass Slipper which is described as
"Fairy tales have been around for thousands of years, but it’s time to turn the age-old tropes on their head. In SHATTERING THE GLASS SLIPPER, we want you to step into realms where princesses plan their own rescues, where princes are encouraged to find a better line of work, and where Happily Ever After is turned upside down by those achieving six impossible things before breakfast. Discover worlds where falling down a rabbit hole may be a deliberate act of sabotage…or a trip through a wormhole. Come explore roads less traveled and meet the little match girl determined to light the fires of revolution. SHATTERING THE GLASS SLIPPER will feature fourteen stories from around the world - and the galaxy - that shatter fairy tale tropes and create a new “happily ever after.”
Edited by Rhondi Salsitz & Crystal Sarakas, SHATTERING THE GLASS SLIPPER will contain approximately fourteen stories with an average length of 6,000 words each. Anchor authors and their selected fairy tales include:
R.J. Blain (Jack and the Bean Stalk), Patricia Bray (Rumpelstiltskin), José Pablo Iriarte, Alethea Kontis (various), Cat Rambo (Six Soldiers of Fortune), Rhondi Salsitz (Twelve Dancing Princesses), and Rachel Swirsky (Rapunzel)"
Additionally, they will put out a call for stories when funded, so if you are a writer you might want to keep an eye out.
