MountainKat | 31599 comments Information required when posting your completion/s:

Task
Book/cover link
Page numbers with source
How book qualified, with links or cover as necessary.
Date Completed.
Rating/Review.

**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

MountainKat | 31599 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

If I have your team name wrong or if you wish to change it, just let me know!

Teresa (teresab78) | 1064 comments Hello Ladies!!!
Welcome back! Thanks Tru for gathering us :)

I guess we need to pick a team lead...

message 6: by Truitt_T (new)

Truitt_T | 805 comments Woohoo! I just saw that we are official!

Do we need a team lead? Doesn't the last person post to the tracking thread?

message 7: by Fi (new)

Fi | 379 comments Hi!!!!

Tru, yes, that worked really well last time. But I think we still need an official team lead to keep track of things and organize team choices. If someone else is able to do it this time that'd be great, I'm not sure I'll have the time unfortunately.

message 8: by KellyJo (new)

KellyJo (kellyjo02) | 331 comments Hello All.

I am not in a position to take team lead roll this time. I am enrolled in a couple of college classes along with working full time and sons JH sports and FFA projects, so do not have much extra time for a few months. Luckily I have lots of time to listen to audio books while I am driving around to work and sons activities.

Lol lies! And we'll help you. 🤗

Here's the posts from last time, since the tasks are the same and we're keeping a lot of the same options.

message 37: by Truitt_T (new)

Truitt_T | 805 comments Yeah, I looked at the list and keeping the same options looks like a good plan to me.

Series seemed like the biggest question mark - and that's decided.

Tonight, I have a first dress rehearsal for a show opening Friday night. I'm being unusually nervy about it. I can't bring myself to do anything other than review lines I already know. Ugh! Sorry I can't concentrate on this ormuch of anything else.

I think changing 50 and 53 might not be the worst idea, but if you guys want to keep it the same that's fine.

And no worries Tru, break a leg! lol

message 40: by Truitt_T (new)

Truitt_T | 805 comments First Task - All Teams!

0. Each teammate reads a book initially published in a fall month, teams decide which month.

As a team select a fall month. Fall this year is from September 22 through December 21 - so you may select September, October, November or December, then everyone reads a book initially published in the selected month of any year. For this task, use the initial publication date. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page - use it! Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected month in your completion posts.

message 41: by Truitt_T (new)

Truitt_T | 805 comments Thanks for the good wishes, Filipa!

So, what month do we want: September, October, November, December?

I don't really have a preference. September? Or I have a November book I was going to read. Strong preference from anyone?

message 42: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresab78) | 1064 comments I'm good what ever month everyone else wants... I have something that works for all of them!

Truitt_T | 805 comments Let's go with November, then, so we can get reading. That's 3 out of 4 of us - KellyJo, I hope that's ok by you, too!

Teresa (teresab78) | 1064 comments 49. August or September 2021? - Either works for me
50. We had New York, but I think we had some trouble with it. England? - I prefer England
51. Maybe Kaje Harper, Jordan L. Hawk, Lily Morton, N.R. Walker... they have lots - I love Kaje and Jordan but have read everything they've written. I liked the one Lily Morton I read and wouldn't mind checking out more by her.
53. Shall we go with Texas this time? I'm ok with that.

The rest is good for me too

Task: 0. Each teammate reads a book initially published in a fall month, teams decide which month. (November)
Book/cover link: A Vampire's Heart by Kayleigh Sky
Page numbers: 399/GR
How book qualified: Published November 13th 2018
Date Completed: 09/23
Rating/Review:
3.5 stars
It was a little slow in spots and I’m not sure I really felt the love between Otto and Jessa (though there was a connection) but the world was interesting. The mystery was odd and if it wasn’t for Otto’s epiphany I wouldn’t have guessed the culprit. I would have liked a little more info on the world: why were there earthquakes in the first place? Why did they continue? What exactly happened when the vampires emerged? Everything was vague. If the next book was Otto and Jessa furthering their relationship and solving more mysteries I might read it but I’m not sure I’m invested enough for another couple.

It was a nice conclusion to the series, but I have to admit the mystery didn't really grab me. I still really liked the characters though, especially Fenrir, and would be interested in checking out the books featuring the new characters that were introduced.
