Wait- I have an idea. Should we combine this with the "About Moderators" and just say MODS ONLY: in front of every topic that was moved? Or would that be weird?

Hey y'all! I had an idea that might be worth consideration. I know we've done a couple polls at random times in the past. What would y'all think of adding new polls regularly? Like maybe, once a month or every other Friday? I'd be happy to run it. :)
Yeah, just like favorite book or favorite fandom or author or superhero or even a "this or that" type of deal. Just something to get everyone active and maybe even give us some ideas for new threads to add to the Fan Time section. :)

Well, first let's decide how often we want to do them. Once or twice a month? And we should probably do the same time every month, right?
For the Fan Time section, I posted that thread about Fandoms hoping to see which ones our members were interested in, but I didn't really get many responses. Maybe that's what the first poll can be about.

Yeah. I also just added a bunch from my brain or other groups, and I think we should do weekly polls. So we add one every week, but if you don't respond you can comment. And then there's another one. We can see if that works, and we can make an announcement about it.
Okay, I have a couple others in mind to make, so I'll add those in a minute. Sounds good! I'll go on and make the first poll. :)

Ok Wren, I'm gonna put together a group message to everyone sometime this afternoon. I'm planning on mentioning the weekly poll, the BOTM, and the mod opening. Also, I'm going to set up the PIFM so people can sign up this month and we can start next month. Sound good?

I am going out of town this weekend, but I would like to make some progress on the organization of the group first. I completely understand what you were talking about. It has been bugging me for ages, but it's the type of project I like to sit down and do all at once and I simply haven't gotten a chance.
So to start, the "Stump Me" folder has never been very popular, but it was one of the defining characteristics of the original group. I feel bad about deleting it outright. I think we should set up a poll and let the members vote about whether or not they care to keep it. Thoughts?

Okay, help me find a better name for the new folder Chit Chat. I just wanted to make a folder for the threads like Chat and Ranting and TBH because they didn't really fit in any others. Opinion?

I understand and I am glad we are on the same page. Too bad about the disappearing mods, guess life gets in the way.
I like what you have said/done about the Stump Me folder. It would be sad to see it go but if people aren't engaging...
For the Chit Chat folder -- Miscellaneous, Member Chat, Free Talk?
And I think Fan Time is fine as long as we specify if a thread is specifically book/movie/tv show related
Just saw this! Ok, that all sounds good. What do you think about just changing the name of the Deeper Book Discussions folder to Archives so we don't have to move so many threads?
Ok, I'm planning to send a message to everyone this evening. I'm going to mention which books were chosen for the BOTM. According to the poll, most people just don't know what Stump Me's are, so I'd like to explain what they are and give them one more week. I'll let everyone know that if activity on those threads do not improve, they will be removed. I'd also like to get the old threads archived before then and tell everyone about that. Is there anything else you can think of?

But I get what you mean - if we move the current BOTM into the Books folder with all the other current discussions and then archive the rest. Seems fine to me.
Hmmm ok what do you think about leaving the folder as it is and continuing to collect BOTMs in there for the full year. We could then Archive the BOTMs by year. Then, if we wanted, we could have a separate, miscellaneous archive. And yes, I will move the folder up tomorrow morning when I have my computer. Where do you think it should go?
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Ok, sounds good! I'll make those adjustments in the morning. Going to sleep now though :P
Ok Becca, I'm going to make a reviews folder to put the reviews from Books!! in. Do you think it's okay to delete the ones that have no comments?

Actually, I take that back. I think I'm going to archive all of them, and we can go back and decide whether to delete the ones with only one comment. Also, I think in the future we shouldn't make more reviews threads because they will overlap with the BOTM discussion threads and there's also the Book Rants thread if it is a book that we haven't read as a group. Plus, if someone just really wants to read or write a full review, can't they just do that on the book's page? Opinions?


And truly Kelly, it's not like we're posting anything here that the members just absolutely must not see. This is just a place for us to work on the group together. And as far as y'all commenting, I appreciate your concern in this case, but generally speaking we will delete comments.
Hey, where are you?? Haven't heard from you in awhile. Group's pretty inactive right now, so when you get back we should spit ball some ideas to ramp up the activity :)
Well I think we should wait to add another mod. What about you? How about 200 members? We already have three- that should be enough, since most of us are active. Well, we all have a week off, but you get what I mean.
