The beginners book If You Give A Mouse A Cookie is about a little boy who asks a mouse if he would like a cookie. After the boy gives the mouse the cookie, the mouse asks for a glass of milk. This continues throughout the whole story between the mouse and the little boy. This book would definitely be a beginning reader's book because it is pretty easy and repetitive, but it does have a few tricky words compared to easy read books. Easy reads books tend to have only a few words and tell more of a story with the pictures. This book tells a story with the pictures, but has more words than an easy read.
I used to read this book all the time as a kid, in fact it was one of the first books I ever learned to read on my own. The series of these books are one of my all time favorites to this day. I can relate to this book, because I have an aunt who’s just like the mouse. She will always ask you for a favor, and once you’ve done it for her, she’ll ask for five more. We love her, but we always make the joke that she’s just like If You Give A Mouse A Cookie.
