I haven't read any of these ... by chance this time. Not really interested in The Fountainhead, but I might be pleasantly surprised.

Also recommend reading a shorter, lighter read after it. :)
Sounds like a good plan. Maybe Matilda? It’s over 200 pages, but is a children’s’ book so might be a fast read.

I would like to recommend starting with Deadly Appearances. I love mysteries and this seems like it would be a quick read
I have not done a schedule. We can start with that one. Mid-January maybe. Give us a break from the holidays.
Here are the 5 books that were chosen by a random drawing that will be our group reads for 2022.
64.Deadly Appearances by Gail Bowen
85.The Cure for Death by Lightning by Gail Anderson-Dargatz
86.The Englishman’s Boy by Guy Vanderhaeghe
88.The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
98.What Came Before He Shot Her by Elizabeth George
The only one that concerns me is The Fountainhead. :-)
We will start with Deadly Appearances by Gail Bowen on January 15. That will give us a nice break from 2021 & give us time to locate the book. I've learned that I cannot order from my library's interlibrary loan. I'm going to wait and check with the librairian when they are back from their holiday break. I really don't want to buy it.
If anyone is interested in choosing the next group read from the remaining 4, please comment with your choice on this thread.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas/holiday. Positive thoughts for the new year!

Sounds good to me. We can start it on the 15th of this month. Or whenever works best for you.

I'm going to go ahead a switch to What Came Before He Shot Her as our group read. If I can figure out how I'll add The Fountainhead as a quarterly/longer read. I've seen that done in some groups.
I'll do a thread for The Cure for Death by Lightning if I haven't already. I've started it and not sure what to think about it yet. Interesting.
I have not started The Fountainhead. May not get to it until next year.
