Len | 19 comments This is the first paragraph to a pitch I'm making about several series Matt Hansel, a graphic artist, and I are working on:

Neither UFO’s nor God have been acknowledged in current sci fi; and, because they haven’t, sci fi has become skewed to where it and fantasy are indistinguishable. All that should have changed on October 6, 1995 when Michel Mayer and Didier Queloz confirmed the exoplanet, 51 Pegasi b. It hasn’t until now.

One of the two prequels to the series is Copernican Journey which is available on Smashwords.com and iTunes for $0.99. The story takes place 20 years after Humans have been quarantined to their own solar system by th million world Aquarian Empire's refusal to give or allow any other civilization to give them the secret to interstellar travel.

Copernican Journey is about Boone Dalton, a genetically modified retired race driver, and Jennifer Colbert-Strand, biologist and daughter of controversial and martyred historian Oscar Strand. They are waylaid by assassins, androids and a deadly Martian plague as they make their way to the Red Planet and a mysterious cavern that might hold the key to humans robust enough to challenge the Cosmos and the often malicious civilizations that inhabit it.

Yes, Virginia. There are references to UFO's in this novel. God, not so much. Copernican Awakening that comes out at the end of the year will have UFO's and references to God. After all, both do exist.

Will they spark controversy? I hope so.

Like the Hollywood agent said back in the day, "there is no such thing as bad publicity."
