November 2021 Nominations are open!
Here is a couple of links you may find useful to guide your suggestions:
• "Authors vs. Birthdays" spreadsheet;
• our common bookshelf.

Let's get started!

I'll start with four (four!) nominations:
a. Carlo Levi's Christ Stopped at Eboli: The Story of a Year (Eboli is a little village not so far from my hometown);
b. Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut;
c. Middlemarch by Mary Ann Evans, better known as George Eliot;
d. Ballard's The Drowned World.

Only one vote per person is allowed and I already know what I'd like to read the most; however my idea is to provide a variety of choices in order to meet other people's tastes with books I wouldn't mind reading now.

Carlton | 93 comments Great suggestions Mariella, and I will vote for one of these, as I already have three of the four books in some form.

Lizzie I actually just started middlemarch so that would be perfect.

Perfect! Thank you for your feedback! Let's wait a few more hours — in case someone else steps in with other suggestions — before opening a poll. 😊

Kimberly | 62 comments if it's not too late, I nominate Gilead by Marilynne Robinson (a November birthday)

It's not too late, @Kimberly! Thank you.

I'll keep this thread open for another 24 hours, in case someone else jumps in the discussion.

Carol Ann Middlemarch is one of my favorites!
