Sometimes challengers like to look for reading partners when they tackle a book on their TBR pile. If you have a book on your list for which you'd like host a Read-Along, feel free to advertise through a topic comment feed here--just add a new topic to start the ball rolling.

Be sure and remain tethered to your climbing buddies!

I am planning on reading “The Stand”, “1963”, and some other Stephen King novels this year. Anyone want to buddy read?

That sounds interesting but no Stephen King in my mountain of books right now. What about Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel?

I have a few Stephen King novels in my TBR pile, Cujo, Sleeping Beauties, Insomnia and The Outsider, if you plan on reading any of those this year?

Rai FG (rai_fg) | 34 comments Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in reading Brave New World as a buddy read this year?

If not, perhaps A Scanner Darkly or The Only Good Indians?

My full MountTBR-Candidates shelf is here if anyone wants to peruse what else I've got to get through!!: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 6: by Sam (new)

Sam (aramsamsam) Lisa, I might be up for a reread of Wolf Hall! In my first attempt years ago, I'm afraid most of it went over my head, it wasn't a good time for me to pick it up.

I'm scared of Brave New World but would give it a try and I'm down for The Only Good Indians.

Oooh yes to Finnikin and Bridge of Clay!

message 11: by Petra (new)

Petra | 18 comments Amazing! When would you like to read them? I will make separate topics tomorrow and send you the link!

I own Finnikin so I can start that like next week and I will have to get Bridge of Clay from the library (count towards Virtual!) so I will need a couple of weeks.

I think BNW is fairly short, definitely sub-300 pages.

Do you have any preference for month/s to do them in? If we could avoid April, that'd be great as I already have 4 buddy reads that month. Most other months I think are fine by me :-)

Yes, it's more the depth of the story that scares me rather than the page count. I tried the audiobook in the past and was not comprehending. lol. I'll have to pick it up at library so I need a couple of weeks so February? I have own The Only Good Indians so we could do that one first and then BNW after, both in February.

Great, I have them both at home. Would it be okay if we started after the 21st because I have an exam next week

I'd love to join in on Bridge of Clay. It's on my TBR pile! Could we maybe wait until March? I have a few ARCs and book club books to get through first.

I have Insomnia and The Outsiders. I'm planning on The Outsiders after I read the Mr. Mercedes trilogy. I heard that there are characters in The Outsiders that are from the trilogy so to read those books first. I won't get around to these books until the summer probably though. I don't have Sleeping Beauties and haven't even heard of it. I do have Later, Billy Summers, and Gwendy's Final Task on my TBR list as well. I have an ARC of Gwendy's Final task so that trilogy will be read sooner.

I have these three on my TBR as well, though I haven't read the second Gwendy book yet either.

I might have to delay The Only Good Indians, sorry :( , I've ended up with quite a lot to get through in a mere 28 days on top of trying to finish off my masters' thesis... would you still be up for reading it later in the year? Maybe in June?
