I remember telling my older sister that I could read chapter books, and to prove it, I pretended to read a book called Runt!😄

I think the first book I remember reading by myself was Magic Treehouse: Dolphins at Dusk

😂😂😂 I don't even think I was capable of reading Dr. Seuss at that time. I loved Magic Tree House, though! Unlike you, though, I read the first book first 😂😉

If we're talking about novels, it would probably be "The Secret of the Old Clock" Nancy Drew novel by Caroline Keene.

*is really embarrassed that I somehow still haven't read Narnia yet!*

If it's actual chaper books/novels, then I'm pretty sure it was one of the Chronicles of Narnia. But I also remember Heidi being one of the first, and I was so proud that I went through it "all by myself." (Then my dad assigned me to write a book review of it, and I regretted telling everyone I read it.)

Haha, I relate to that feeling with Heidi! I rmbr reading Jane Austen's Emma when I first picked up reading, and I was soooo proud of finishing it, even though I literally had no idea what was going on and had to rely on my memory of the TV series scenes to keep track. 😳
One of my first memory with books was the Jane and Peter series!! 😂 I loved them. XD But for a novel, I read the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe when I was eight... I hated reading then, and I only agreed to read that book when my dad bargained with me to award me $5 if I finished it. :p He never let that happen again, though. No matter how hard I tried to ask, hahaha.

Haha that's amazing!!! Because I bet if he'd made a deal that every book you read = $5 then you'd be soo rich and he would be broke xD

Well....I could read at 3...so I do remember getting a book from my Aunt. It was one by Dr. Sues. I don't remember the name, but I know it was a Dr. Sues book
yah, it's been a while....I'm gonna see if I can find it on Google
I believe it was either the one fish two fish book or the Cat In The Hat
