89% of those who voted in the last poll were in favor of doing book of the months, so we're going to try it out!!!

This is the thread to nominate books! Please follow the guidelines below when nominating.

1) You are allowed to nominate a maximum of 3 books for each month's BOTM.

2) The book(s) you nominate must have fantasy as its main genre and be clean or relatively clean.

3) If you can, try to nominate books from Christian authors as much as possible. It doesn't have to have obvious spiritual themes, but please don't ever nominate something that clashes with biblical truth.

4) If someone has already nominated a book that you wanted to nominate, second them! I will only be picking the top few nominations to vote on in the final poll, so the more nominations a book has, the more likely it will become the BOTM.

5) You can second a total of 6 books or (nominate a total of 3). If you're going to both nominate book(s) and second book(s) as well, you just have to make sure you don't exceed 3 nominations per month and 6 in total (seconds + nominations). Hope that makes sense!

Nominations will go usually be open from the 1st day of the month to the 15th and then I will send out a poll for all of us to vote for the BOTM based on the month's nominations.

If you have any questions, please ask them below or send me a private message.

Also, I'm not sure if this is a thing, but wouldn't it be cool to have a December BOTM that's both fantasy and Christmas-/winter-y?

˚༚✧˳⁺⁎davm⁎⁺˳✧༚˚ | 29 comments I know several people mentioned not having read Narnia, so how about The Magician’s Nephew or the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe?
(Thanks to Lily for this idea uwu).

message 4: by Lillian (new)

Lillian Keith (imwritehere20) | 26 comments Ooo, that'd be cool to have a winter/fantasy theme.

Here's my three nominees:

1.) The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (the only one I could think of with Winter/Christmas vibes *haha* I actually don't know of many with those themes).

2.) Ranger's Apprentice: The Ruins of Gorlan (#1; John Flannagan)

3.) Fawkes (Nadine Brandes; I think it was winter at one point in the book, if I remember correctly).

I remember seeing a Frozen retelling that Disney came out with a while back; but for some reason, I can't recall the name. I've also never read it, so I can't give it a recommendation. But if anyone else has heard or read of it, please let me know! Maybe it will be a good fit for a winter fantasy read.

message 5: by Amber (new)

Amber Gabriel Oh my goodness, if people have not read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, we MUST read it! We could do a Zoom discussion afterward, and I could stream the movie (I think you can do that in "Share screen")

Moonscript is SO GOOD!

message 24: by Carina (new)

Carina Shephard (carinashephard) Does seconding a book count as part of the three nominations? So I seconded three books, can I still second or nominate any more? If that makes any sense :P

message 25: by Rinee (new)

Hahaha I was gonna make it so that you're only allowed to nominate/second three but now I don't know lolll

Okay, how about you can only nominate three new books at most but if you're seconding people, you can second up to six books. you can also both second and nominate new books, you just can't go over three nominations and six in all (counting both nominations and seconds). Does that make sense?

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I wouldn't mind re-reading redeeming love ;)

yes that makes sense, only 6 things in total, whether its recommendations or seconding something, right?
