Hi guys! We'd love to hear your thoughts on Dune!

have the book and based on reviews of the movie, i’ve been wanting to read it!

I'm somewhere around 200 pages in and the first few chapters remind me of "The Giver" by Lois Lowry, the whole planet universe scene is totally my thing, love it

i need to ask you guys something: are you reading "Dune" as slow as I am? Usually I finish 60-80 pages per hour (sometimes more) but after at least 8 hours of reading I'm on page 200... does anyone else have the same problem?

I haven't gotten to reading it yet, but I have a friend who's a pretty fast reader and they've been reading this for a while and they're still not very far into it

it's one of my favorites. i just reread the series in preparation for the movie. it helps to read it as a serial. That's how it was originally published.

i've seen the new movie and so i've picked up the book (as one does)

I read maybe 200 pages of this and decided it wasn't my thing. I know the spoilers at the beginning of every chapter have a purpose, but I didn't like that because it ruined the suspense for me. Having the internal thoughts of every character on every page was annoying. I didn't like the writing.
