Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2450 comments 19. Read a book recommended to you by the staff of your friendly local book store.

I have no local bookstore! LOL

I guess I could drive to Florida and get a rec from the B&N there. It's the closest one.

HomeInMyShoes ^My library has a Books4Me service where you fill in a few things and tell them a couple of books you just enjoyed and they give you a suggestion list in a few days.

You could also alternately put a few random books on a bookshelf here at GoodReads and then grab one of the based on this shelf recommendations for an author you haven't read.

Chris Haught (haughtc) | 2450 comments That's true enough...

Might could even get one of the books recommended by Amazon.

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Questions about the tasks:

6. Read a book that inspired a television show.
- Could this be a series? Like the Expanse series, for example?

13. Reread a book you meant to review, but didn't. (If you don't write reviews, just reread something you wish you remembered better.)
- I review every book that I read since I've joined GR, so could this be a book that I read pre-GR?

15. Read an illustrated novel.
- Does this mean a traditional novel which has been illustrated, like the new HP editions, or could graphic novels count?

Or all the "new" books George R.R. Martin releases in lieu of an actual continuation of his series, just a reprint of old stuff with new pretty pictures.

Nan (felicityk) | 245 comments This looks like a lot of fun! Thank you Nicki :).

Nan (felicityk) | 245 comments I have a question about
22. Read a novel with a monochrome cover.
How monochrome is monochrome? Would Little Green Men qualify?

Nan (felicityk) | 245 comments Nicki wrote: "It's fine if there's text of a different colour on it, because for readability purposes the text is often going to be a contrasting colour, but the artwork should be monochromatic or greyscale. So ..."

That helps a lot :). And thank you for the examples, those are very helpful.

I almost have my list put together -- just need to find four or five more titles.

I don't know if this is helpful or evil.

Helpful. I'm going with helpful. :P
