Amazing as usual Janice!! I'll read it in detail in the morning, but I really like the new rule of reading more in order. I also love the idea of making our own side trips.

Lol!
Great, Janice!

Considering that most of the books I read spend some on hold at the library, this is going to be interesting (read management nightmare). Well, time will tell.... :)

As I said, we shall see. I am currently freaking out as most of my TBR have an average waiting time of 6 to 8 weeks and I am hoping to get them to finish my 2021 challenge.
Eventually I will calm down and find a strategy for 2022 . :)

I think the extra planning is going to make this task more interesting. And the side trips - the scope is endless! It's 23.40 here so I WILL GO TO SLEEP NOW AND NOT START GOPHERING TILL TOMORROW - well, I'll try......

I realize that reading books in order will make this challenge hard. I love love love that just about any book I read could be slotted into the challenge over the last two years, and I know I'm not alone in that strategy. We had 67 members participating in the 2021 challenge and it became too labour intensive for me.
I hope that you will all see this new way of strategizing as part of the challenge. I hope that mood readers and those reliant on libraries will find ways to work around the issues this may cause and still participate.

Oh my! I knew the Aboriginal Man might cause a stir, but.... ROFL!

Yeah, I think I saw him in Naked and Afraid 😱

Thanks! Fixed. :)

Sorry, Janice. There isn't a reading task for Site 14 Location.

I am in hysterics."
lol, you know I had to go look. Did you see the boob grabber at Site 35?? 😮 It's in the sidewalk. I'd probably trip over it! lol

Read a book with Caldwell in title (including sub-titles) or written by an author with the name Caldwell.
I thought I went through the tasks very carefully, but I had two listed for Scotland.

I think I'll choose "The Big Gumboot" at Tully, Queensland for one my additional sites https://www.australiantraveller.com/q...
Anyone else know of an obscure, bizarre attraction for extra sites?

I am in hysterics." Oh I feel so un-Australian. I haven't heard of nor seen this one!

Read a book with a character or author with the name Alice of Stuart. Spelling is exact.
Maybe Alice OR Stuart?

Us Canberrans have a love/hate relationship with that stupid owl. Janice has posted him from his flattering side:
Possibly NSFW
(view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I’ve checked out some links and sites - just to see.
I am reminded of the fun that I had following Bill Bryson around in Australia and checking out the locations on Google Maps and even Google Earth to see the places he visited in his book In a Sunburned Country. I still have a map of Australia on my wall over my desk.
I like the new rules for the road trips and finishing one badge before we start on another.
Great job, Janice!

How do we pick the side trip - does it have to be in the area we are already travelling? Does it have to be a roadside monument or can it be a tourist attraction?
As an example the first badge i have 4 sites in Canada could i do a side trip to say Capilano Suspension Bridge Park in Vancouver
It is a great challenge Janice just need to get my head round it
ETA i have found the answer t this Janice my fault for not reading everything

Janice added a few links to look for sites here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

They should be in the title.

Yes, it's a typo. Alice or Stuart.

LOL! I love owls and that's why I picked it.
This reminds me of a friend who wanted cactuses quilted in the border of her quilt. Great idea, but they all looked like penises. We called it The Penis quilt.

I will start doing some goohering this weekend. I already looked up for bizarre roadside attractions in Pennsylvania, my area, and found so many I didn't know about. I'm between a shoe shaped house and a giant coffee pot.

I looked at Virginia's too and just finished creating a side trip for Stonewall Jackson's arm! lol

I'm sure I've come across road side attractions during our travels but have a hard time coming up with any right now, lol. I'd like to use those for my side trips.
