“He listened to her with silent attention, and on her ceasing to speak, rose directly from his seat, and after saying in a voice of emotion, 'To your sister I wish all imaginable happiness; to Willoughby, that he may endeavor to deserve her,' took leave, and went away.” Sense & Sensibility

101. [*Unpub] The Bar Scene: AliasKelly: 3.5-stars [2-10-22] https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11829634...

Blurb: “A light modern-set what-ig story. Pure angst-free fluff. Bingley and Darcy meet some ladies at a bar. This was originally a one-shot but is not a two-shot!”
>>Rating: PG-17: modern sensibilities, language, 2-shot. I liked the 1st chapter best.

102. [*Unpub] Review: Outnumbered: irislim a.k.a. Iris Lim: 4-stars [2-10-22] https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14036616/1/

Blurb: “The Darcys, Bingleys, Bennets, and Gardiners comprise the only genteel circle in the small town of Lambton. As the number of dinner parties grew, so did the Bingley sisters’ gall. How fortunate it is for Mr. Darcy that Miss Elizabeth rescues him.”
>>Rating: rather risqué, rather implausible, one-shot, AU with a bit of British language but oh so cute. >>Trope: Bennet with a title; compromise. >>Status: complete

**[*Unpub-DNF] The Road Taken: Lady Dami: stars [2-10-22] I’m not counting this one since I DNF
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12077094...
Rating: 31 chapters: DNF: I was speed reading until I had a headache. When I no longer cared what happened… I just simply gave up. It was too LONG, too minute, and Elizabeth drove me crazy.
Trope: Elizabeth married another. Elizabeth was titled.
Volume 1: Ch 1-10
Volume 2: Ch 11- DNF

103. [JAV website] WIP: Sneek Peek Love is in the Air: Amy D’Orazio [2-11-22] https://austenvariations.com/love-is-...

There is no working title at this time for this WIP:
Matlock House billiards room: Colonel Fitzwilliam, Darcy, and Saye’s particular friend, Sir Frederick Moore. Viscount Saye entered the room and, with grand flourish, presented his box of trophies to the assembled group. This was a hoot, shocking but hilarious. Saye was considering getting married. He even had a list of females under consideration with scoring by each name. That was hilarious.

104. [JAV website] Betrothed: A HEA Vignette: Joana Starnes: [2-11-22] https://austenvariations.com/betrothe...

The newly engaged Jane and Elizabeth, along with Mrs. Bennet were arriving at Netherfield for a tour of the manor house. Bingley gave his sister the gimlet eye for her snarky comments. He insisted he would send her to Scarborough if she wasn’t careful. Meanwhile, Elizabeth and Darcy took a walk outside. Mr. Bennet was having his fun with deciding on a wedding date.

105. When Jane Got Angry: Victoria Kincaid: 4-stars [2-11-22]

106. [KU] Reversed Fortune: Sydney Salier: 4-stars [2-11-22 ~ 2-12-22]

107. [KU] Surprise & Serendipity: Sydney Salier: 5-stars [2-12-22]

108. [*Unpub] Review: Freindship: TillySnap: 4-stars [2-13-22] https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13498305/0
Explains the meeting of Darcy and Bingley and what happened to make them friends. One-shot. >>Rating: rather crude with what was happening but clean otherwise.

109. [*Unpub] Review: Questions & Commands: TillySnape: 3-stars [2-5-22] [2-13-22]
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14023733/0
Sequel to Freindship. The first time I had read this, I had not read the previous story. I have now read it and it makes more sense as I read it again.

110. [*Reread-Unpub] Poor decisions: maddyv: 3.4-stars [2-14-22]
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12550795...
Elizabeth was married to Wickham. Reread. I hate this trope. In this story he was horrid, abusive and degenerate.

111. [*Unpub] Review: The Road (And Other Things) Taken: Mme Fish: 3-stars [2-13-22]
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11842891...
Blurb: “Short story written for an AHA – A Happy Assembly challenge. Rated T for the yuck factor. Chapter 2: Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins live the good life.”
>>Rating: Suggestive and hints at something else. Very strange story. >>Trope: Baby Bennet.

112. [KU] A P&P Christmas Carol: Sydney Sailer: 5-stars [2-13-22 ~ 2-14-22]

113. [Reread-Unpub] Unwittingly: Ms Pimprenelle: 4-stars [2-14-22]

115. [*Unpub] Business in Liverpool: RoniAllan: 3.5-stars [2-15-22] https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13769764...
Blurb: “Mr. Bennet is ill and Lydia’s elopement causes his death. Collins evicts them from Longbourn and the Bennet ladies go to live with their relatives in Meryton and London.”

116. [KU] Comfort and Joy: Anngela Schroeder: 5-stars [2-16-22]

101. Mr Darcy Wants to Change (FF, one-shot)
102. Kiss (FF, one-shot)
103. Against Every Expectation (ARC) 4.5
104. Bingley's Blunder, or the High Fine Art of Gossip (FF) 4 - Bingley inadvertently lets slip that Darcy will be his brother, leading all of London to think he proposed to Miss Bingley.
105. The End is Where We Start From (dwg) DNF - I found out I do not like meeting later in life so they get a second chance trope. And to make it worse, this was such a negative-nellie!
106. Bay Leaves and Valentines, Maria Grace (SS) cute!
107. What we bear, Gretomy (AHA) 4, but omg dark, dark, dark! Elizabeth marries a bad man against her will. The Bennets have been conned and she was literally dropped into a vat of evilness. Darcy has his work cut out for him helping E heal.
108. Compassion (FF) 5 - one-shot.
109. When Love Hits You Like A Brick (FF) 5 - short story
110. What was he thinking (FF) 4 one shot
111. A Woman Worthy of Being Pleased (FF) 4 - ODC meet when they are younger and The Darcy's parents are still alive. D&E adore each other!!
112. These Dreams: A Pride and Prejudice Variation (reread, AB) 5
113. Letters linnea eileen smith - interesting story, but I didn't love it. The writing was very wordy and sluggish. Made for slow reading. http://www.desertmusings.net/les/comp...
114. With just a little guidance (DWG) 3 - perfectly fine story, but nothing much happens. It is basically all the Bennets (minus Mrs, who died in childbirth) getting married and having children. Jane and Elizabeth were both widowed at the beginning of the story.
115. The Wedding Afternoon (FF) 4
116. The Fee Entail (FF) 4
117. I, Mrs Darcy
118. After Pride and Prejudice: A Bennet Visit 3

abmom | 288 comments 101. There You Were: A Pride & Prejudice Variation https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 5++ stars. This is one of the best JAFFs I've read recently. The emotions it evoked in me are indescribable. It's high angst but so beautifully written that you'll enjoy every tear you shed and believe me when I say you will. Great book!
102. A Judge of Their Characters https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... 5 stars. A very different and thrilling variation. Elizabeth is travelling alone by post to meet her aunt and uncle to ask for gelp convincing her father to end Jane's ill-conceived engagement. Darcy comes to her rescue when she was about to enter a dangerous situation and thus an acquaintance is formed which develops into friendship and then love. This is relatively low angst for Darcy and Elizabeth with respect to their relationship but otherwise they get into a lot of trouble. This ends incompletely to be continued in another story.
103. The Suitors https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... 4.5 stars. This is a very strong sequel as it is equally thrilling as the previous story. My only complaint is the many loose ends at the end. Is there supposed to be a third book?
104. Fitzwilliam Darcy, Poet https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 5 stars. This is a very light hearted enjoyable book. It starts the same way but differs after Jane falls ill at Netherfield. We have a different type of Wickham in this book who is still bad but not in the usual manner and his end fate was actually funny.
105. Of Friendship and Forgiveness: A Pride and Prejudice Variation https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 2.5 stars. This story has an original premise. Background story is the same except that Bingley marries Jane without Darcy's interference abd Lydia is prevented from eloping. Darcy and Elizabeth develop a friendship which extends to Georgiana. Darcy invites Elizabeth to join Georgiana's debut and her stay with the Darcys induces the ire of Lady Catherine which results in her spreading rumours about Darcy and Elizabeth's relationship. This sends Elizabeth into hiding and through many people's (who are not Darcy) efforts her reputation is restored and she returns to London (God only knows why) and is then ends up with Darcy. I didn't have any problem with Elizabeth's characterization. But I felt the author exaggerated her charm, people charmed by Elizabeth included not just Dukes, Earls and Marquises but even Prince Regent paid a visit, really? But I had too many complaints about Darcy. For more than half the book, he was as emotional as a marble statue but suddenly he turns a flirty romantic hero it felt as is he had a character transplantation. Their courtship felt so unnatural to me. The first part of the book felt more like a newspaper report than a story. I couldn't get drawn into the story till the end.
106. Cinder-Liza: A Pride and Prejudice Vagary https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 4 stars. Though the title suggests this story having something to do with Cinderella, there is actually not much in common between the two. This story has a lot in common with another fanfiction "Duke of Devonshire". A good variation and interesting read.
107. Memory: Volume 1, Lasting Impressions: A Tale Of Pride And Prejudice https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8... 4 stars. The meeting of Darcy and Elizabeth in this book is similar to that of Chance Encounters by the same author. The story is good. The villains, friends, family, the chemistry between ODC, everything was perfect but for the length of the book. The story was not dragging at any point of the book but still I felt that the book could have been made crisper. Especially the scenes where Darcy and Elizabeth were flaunting propriety could have been edited really well because even though I could understand passion, there is a line which they were frequently stepping on even in the presence of others and as I understand it's not taken that indulgently as they do in this story. I'm really very hesitant to start the next one in spite of the ratings because I know there'll be many tooth achingly sweet nothings and page skip worthy intimacies in it.
108. In essentials https://www.dwiggie.com/derby/old_200... 5 stars. This is a very interesting variation. Though the story follows essentially the same path as the original, two important changes impact the heart of the story. One being Elizabeth's tour of Pemberley before Darcy's arrival to Hertfordshire which prejudices her favourably towards Darcy and Georgiana's sickness during the summer preventing her trip to Ramsgate. So, Elizabeth is able to look through Darcy's mask and Darcy is able to be friendly towards Elizabeth. This results in some plausible changes and a good story.
109. The musketeer https://www.dwiggie.com/derby/old_200... 5 stars. Modern short. Lizzy and Jane goes to a Halloween party at Netherfield country club to meet Bingley and Elizabeth is curious to meet a newcomer, Wickham, who is to dress up as a musketeer.
110. Swiftly falling snow https://www.dwiggie.com/derby/old_200... 4 stars. Another modern short. Snow struck Lizzy is rescued by Darcy, who she has rejected two days back, n Christmas eve.
111. Soul meets soul https://www.dwiggie.com/derby/old_200... 3.5 stars. A modern one-shot. A lie threatens the relationship between Darcy and Elizabeth.
112. Dispelling the darkness https://www.dwiggie.com/derby/old_200... 3.5 stars. A modern (I think) one shot. Belle (I'm stubbornly assuming it to be Elizabeth's nickname in this story) wakes up from a nightmare to be comforted by Darcy.
113. Dreaded dusk, sorrowful sunrise https://www.dwiggie.com/derby/hallow2... 4.5 stars. This is a tongue in cheek, funny Halloween one shot. The Netherfield party is excited to go to the Meryton assembly but not for dancing.
114. The fifth wall https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13963974... 3 stars. A radom conversion between Mr. and Mrs. Darcy
115. Outnumbered https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14036616... 5 stars. This is a fun little story. Darcys, Bingleys, Bennets and Gardiners are the only genteel family at Lambton and so are forced to socialize with each other and the results are enjoyable.
116. Revelations https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12604692... 3 stars. A serious one shot about Caroline, letting it slip about Darcy's derogatory comment about Elizabeth and her mother in the beginning of their acquaintance, after their engagement.
117. Lady Catherine's visit https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12629502/0 4.5 stars. Lady Catherine's first visit to Pemberley after Darcy's marriage.
118. Unrequited https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13959087/0 4.5 stars. This story has a different premise Jane and Elizabeth fall in love with the same man, Bingley! Bingley meets Jane first (Elizabeth is in London) and starts courting her and when Elizabeth returns he falls for her and so does she. They court behind Jane's back and when circumstances make Bingley marry Jane, out of compassion and admiration, Darcy offers for Elizabeth to relieve her heartache. But before they could settle into their marriage, new situations develop creating misunderstandings. A good story but not for fans of Bingley. This story reminded me much of Mistaken by Jessie lewis.
119. Would you love me if I were a worm https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13967600... 3.5 stars. A silly conversation between Mr. and Mrs. Darcy during their first ball.
120. In Essentials https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... 5 stars. This story follows the path of the canon except Elizabeth has a positive view of Darcy due to her trip to Pemberley during the summer and Darcy is more friendly to Elizabeth because Georgiana was sick during summer which prevented her elopement. Some of the roles of Darcy and Elizabeth had been reversed and some of the conflicts were resolved faster and these adds to the charm of the story.
121. Mr. Darcy's Triplets: A Pride and Prejudice Variation https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 5 stars. I really liked this story. There's something really cute about stories involving children and single parents.
122. Mutual Pride https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6... 3.5 stars. Elizabeth was not allowed to stay at the parsonage during tea at Rosings which stops Darcy's proposal but didn't stop Elizabeth from lashing out at Darcy about Jane. This small difference changes the path of our story. Interesting premise but too long by half especially near the end.
123. A Longbourn Entanglement https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 5 stars. My February read. A light hearted and low angst novella. Very enjoyable. Darcy is really very sweet in this story.
124. The Recovery of Fitzwilliam Darcy https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 5 stars. What an emotional rollercoaster this book is. A very different premise and good handling of the story. There are no great villains except the circumstances in this story. Darcy is very different in this book. Very vulnerable, humble and unsure. The emotions of the characters are well thought out and also the sequence of the story.
125. The cut https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13558577/0 4 stars. Newspaper gossip column after Darcy and Elizabeth's marriage about two "C"s of Pride and Prejudice. Amusing short.

Ya got some doozies there, I love that you combine the heavy reading with lighthearted in the list!

abmom | 288 comments It's a matter of survival, Sam! I'm the type who laughs and cries with the story I read. If I read too many heavry, emotional stories, I'll be so moody, my family will throw me out of the house or run away themselves. So, for the sake of family harmony and eventual world peace I've to mix it up.

I just finished listening to your #101 last night, and wow, do I ever agree. This is my second time reading/listening to it and There You Were was in my top 10 for '21. I loved it.

I also like your habit of mixing the heavy angsty with the lighter less angsty ones. Good for my own inner harmony although I don't always take my own advice. Great list!

Clean: one-shot on finding one’s soulmate. The first words they utter appear as soul marks on the wrist of their soul mate. What Elizabeth saw appearing on her wrist did not please her. Nor was Darcy pleased with a string of profanity more fit for that of a sailor. How cute.

“All you need for happiness is a good gun, a good horse, and a good wife.” Daniel Boone

Oh, how cute. I loved this short story about Elizabeth and her accurate aim with a gun. The author really had fun with this one. It was short clean and can be read in a few minutes. The ending felt a bit strange but it was cute.

[March Reading List]

135. [*Unpub] Lord Darcy: Bronwen 3.5-stars [3-1-22] https://www.dwiggie.com/derby/old_200...

>>Rating: MA due to adult themes discussed and described. >>Angst Level: strangely medium due to the angst of lovers denied. >>Source: Unpublished. >>Status: Complete in six parts.

What a strange story. Everyone had a title. Bennet was horrid and cruel. Most everyone else was somewhat the same. Caroline Bingley was a harridan and a shrew. Nothing new there. The juxtaposition in the names was a bit disconcerting. It was mostly telling. There was a HEA for ODC but it was hard won and happened way too quickly. It felt rushed and a bit farcical.

136. [*Unpub] Caroline’s Life Lesson: ProfessorPedant: 4-stars [3-1-22] https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14040768...

Blurb: “A short tale of a good friend giving Caroline Bingley a much-needed reality check.” >>Rating: clean, one-shot. Caroline’s good friend gave her a new perspective on what it meant to be married to a landed gentleman who loved country life.

abmom | 288 comments 126. Mr. Bennet's Daughter: An Elizabeth and Darcy Story https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... 5+ stars. I just loved this story. It had three of my favourite themes - One, a beautiful relationship between Elizabeth and Mr. Bennet, Two, a great friendship between Darcy and the Bennets, father and daughter and Thirdly a highly intelligent and strong Elizabeth. I loved every minute of it even Darcy misunderstanding Elizabeth's feeling for Bingley, Elizabeth being unsure about Darcy, confusions and heartaches caused by Mrs. Bennet alias Mrs. Yates's reentry, Wickham's horrible villanism and Elizabeth's threat and all good and bad parts of the story . If you're a fan of Mr. Bennet, this is a must read (Of course, you're a fan of Elizabeth otherwise you won't be here)
127. Mysterious Mr. Darcy (Marrying Mr. Darcy https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 4 stars. This is a different kind of variation with a darker shade of Darcy. Elizabeth is 25 in this story and all her sisters are engaged or married. She is travelling with her uncle and aunt in Scotland when their carriage is attacked and while trying to escape she gets injured and is rescued by Darcy who is hiding from English authorities as hecis a wanted man. Elizabeth conveniently has amnesia and Darcy is the only person she feels safe with. This is the first part of 4 novellas.
128. Impossible Mr. Darcy https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 4.5 stars. The second part of the series. A bit more of Darcy's past is revealed but Elizabeth's amnesia is still in full swing. Darcy decides to risk his freedom to find Elizabeth's family. Most of the book is travel but our couple gets more cosier with each other.
129. Unexpected Mr. Darcy https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 5 stars. Here the entirety of Darcy's past is revealed and Elizabeth's memory is returning and now they are on escape mode back to Scotland.
130. Magnificent Mr. Darcy (Marrying Mr. Darcy https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 4 stars. The final part where villains are vanquished after a long struggle and hero reunites with the heroine and his family. The only thing I didn't understand in this was why Elizabeth didn't make any attempt to escape Wickham and let someone know that he's threatening her. The excuses given felt somewhat flimsy to me.
131. Armed Robbery: A Pride and Prejudice Variation https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... 4 stars. During Jane's stay at Netherfield, armed robbers get into the house and take the six residents as hostages to rob Bingley of money. Darcy and Elizabeth, separately, pretends to be Mr. And Mrs. Bingley to protect Bingley and Jane respectively. Though all of this sounds angsty, the robbers are very understanding (even while being menacing) to give the two couples lit of alone time to come to separate understanding and even seek help from outside. After all this is a novella length story and they can't afford to be more villainish and take up more pages. But I have no complaints because it did make for an enjoyable though not quite plausible read.
132. The road taken https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12077094/0 4 stars. Elizabeth is married to an Earl at 17 and widowed at 19 with a son. She leases at Purvis Lodge to stay near her family. Things start the same way as the original. I don't understand the logic behind Miss Bingley's logic that a sister of a countess is beneath her but it happens so. Darcy is the usual but Elizabeth gets to see his softer side during her stay at Netherfield with her son to tend Jane. When Wickham arrives, Elizabeth sees through him (I liked this part) and when Darcy refuses to reveal his history, Elizabeth admonishes him but handles Wickham herself. Then when she travels to London for the season with Jane and Mary, she faces tge ton for the first time after her marriage and widowhood and how she manages it and the villains who come with it and how she accepts Darcy's proposal to get out of a tight corner and their subsequent relationship are rendered very interestingly. My only negative feeling was that in spite of the obvious love, affection, respect and admiration between Darcy and Elizabeth, there was no chemistry between them. Otherwise, the story (though a bit long) was good.
133. Under the influence https://meryton.com/aha/index.php?/to... 4.5 stars. At Netherfield ball, Elizabeth's discussion with Darcy about Wickham disturbs her so much that she over imbibes on the punch which has been spiked hy Mr. Hurst. Darcy, angry with Elizabeth over imbibes in the library and seeing Elizabeth taken upstairs visits her room to make sure she's alright and we can guess where this is going and the result of this is the story. Mrs. Mary Smythe is one talented writer and this is one of her very enjoyable story. I loved the way Elizabeth and Darcy grow closer and the way the villains are handled.
134. Ardently Loved: A Pride and Prejudice Variation https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... 4 stars. This story is about the period after Lady Catherine's departure from Hertfordshire. Elizabeth is pining for Darcy and even after he arrives, circumstances interfere in their coming to an understanding.
135. Disenchanted https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 3.5 stars. This is my March read. I liked this story but was not overly impressed. From the summary, I thought this was a mixture of Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice but this turned out to be Pride and Prejudice in Harry Potter background. There were so many wasted opportunities for magical writing in this.
136. In the Tower with Mr. Darcy: a Pride and Prejudice variation https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 5 stars. This was another book which turned out different from what I expected but in a good way. From the summary, I expected this to be a low angst fairy tale version of Pride and Prejudice. I thought, like Rapunzel, Elizabeth will be trapped in a tower and will be rescued by Darcy on his white horse. But the title turned out to be true. Darcy gets kidnapped and trapped in the tower along with Elizabeth. And if you think our hero and heroine are together locked in a room will be romantic, you'll again be wrong because it was anything but, even the little bit of romance that happens is fraught with tension. This is quite a dark story with kidnapping, murders, torture and sadistic villains and clieless rescuers. If you go into this book with your expectations adjusted, you'll enjoy it.
137. Caroline's life lesson https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14040768/0 3 stars. Caroline Bingley gets a lesson on having realistic expectations for her life from her friend.
138. Why I hate Darcy more on Valentine's day https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14038560/0 4 stars. Modern story. If you think this is an author's rant about real life, you're wrong (because that's what I thought). In this modern story, Darcy and Elizabeth know each other from childhood but Darcy is clueless how to attract her attention other than by taunting her especially on Valentine's day. How he learns to get on her good side is the story.
139. Meetings in Meryton https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13986339/0 3.5 stars. This story is in form of a letter by Darcy to the Colonel. When Darcy goes to Meryton assembly, he meets all major female characters of Austen and how he deals with them makes for an amusing story.
140. Second impressions https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14042992/0 3 stars. What if Elizabeth confesses her change of heart to Jane after she comes back from Lambton. Jane and Bingley turns matchmakers.
141. The splendour of Rosings https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13758048/0 5 stars. This is a very funny story. At Hunsford, the characters start changing according to different fandoms and the story gets extremely ridiculous.
142. Miss Collins https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12937981/0 4 stars. How Mrs. Collins plan to improve her daughter's chances of a good marriage.
143. Meet my daughter, Amy Jane https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7099591/0 4 stars. This story was inspired by "Beth Massey's Goodly Creatures" which is a book I'm hesitant about reading because of the summary. So, you might ask why did I read this, which will be a good question. I started this story some time back when I was in a mood for sone heavy angsty stuff (God knows why!). The author does give a warning in the beginning about an alcohol involved seduction of a minor and I don't know what made me proceed because this kind of theme deeply disturbs me. When I read till that part of the story I stopped because it really upset me. Here I've to say the author did a really great job of writing enough details to make it horrifying but not graphic enough to be disgusting. But this story did not leave me in peace. It continued to haunt my mind and so I decided to read it through so that I'll know the end and I did. Good thing too because the story really gets better after that. The story is divided into 4 parts and the first part is angsty but from the second part it moves forward in acpath parallel to the original with Darcy and Elizabeth, insults and prejudices, proposal and rejection etc. If you think Elizabeth misunderstood Darcy in the original, you should see her in this, she not just misunderstands him but is quite pig headed about it too.I liked the Colonel a lot in this and the dowager countess of Matlock. My only complaint would be thatvwhat Austen achieved in one letter and a single meeting at Pemberley, this author takes chapters. But, of course, she wrote the original which is still adored after 200 years.
144. Danger at the Netherfield Ball https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 4 stars. This story starts with Elizabeth's meeting with Wickham. But Darcy decides to enlighten Elizabeth about him because he doesn't want her to be taken in by the rogue. Wickham noticing Darcy's interest in Elizabeth, decides to use her for his revenge at the ball.
145. A nice setdown for our lovely Miss Bingley https://www.fanfiction.net/s/7474549/0 5 stars. Reread. I don't know why I'm attracted to stories about putting Caroline in place (Of course, I do) and this is one of my favourites.
146. As luck would have it https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12769044/0 5 stars. Reread. Miss Bingley is touring Pemberley with her sister for the first time when she meets a country nobody in the portrait gallery.
147. Love language https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12364135/0 4 stars. Elizabeth wants to become a doctor in the Regency times and not marry. Let's see if Darcy is able to change her mind.
148. Rumors https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12175858/0 4 stars. Caroline is eager to share a gossip she heard about Elizabeth with Darcy and his sister.
149. Conversations https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10824815/0 4 stars. Modern short. Darcy after being dumped by his best and girlfriend ends up in a bar tended by Elizabeth.
150. Almost ever after https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9814619/0 3.5 stars. Modern short. Wickham and Lydia muse about their and their siblings' relationship ( Darcy is Wickham's half brother).

Bye Colonel! Off to meet Emma!!

I think I did, but I ended up skimming a lot. IT is a little too hard core for me. As much as I love drama, thats not the kind I can stomach.
In Goodly creatures (if I remember correctly), she acquiesces to being forced on the threats of they'll go after her sisters if she doesn't agree to it and because she is so concerned for their welfare and reputation she begs to be able to remove her own dress, so she will be able to go home. It is one of the reason no one believes she wasn't an equal partner.
I hope I am not confusing this with one of the FF I read ...

Also, (and again I skimmed so not sure this stuck from GC or another story) but there were a lot of vile, violent people in throughout the whole book. With a long history of repeat offending again the vulnerable women in their vicinity.

Sam, could you send me the link to #132. Connections, ReaderingH 4 - Jane and Elizabeth are related to Fitzwilliams, but Bennet won't let them know their family. They do but hide that fact. The new Mrs Bennet is obvs cruel.
