Hello all! I am so excited to announce this month’s book: A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking. I’ve also got a couple announcements today as well.

First and foremost, I want to mention that the November Book Club Livestream has been postoponed due to an emergency work trip I had to take. As soon as I am home we will figure out an evening to do the livestream.

Secondly, It is with a bittersweet heart that I am announcing today that this month will be the last month of Ezeekat’s Book Club, at least for now. If you follow me on Tiktok, you will know I’ve started branching out a lot in my content and I am even working on potentially publishing a new book soon. With that in mind, I had to take a serious look at the time available to me every day, week and month and make some adjustments. If things change in the future, I will definitely start things up again, but for now this is a “See you later.” Thank you to everyone who has made this club so incredible over the last year!!!

Now, on to the book! I absolutely loved this one when I read it earlier this year and I’ve been waiting to add it to the book club for a while. It’s about magical baked goods so I figured December would be the perfect month! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

More About the Book:

Fourteen-year-old Mona isn’t like the wizards charged with defending the city. She can’t control lightning or speak to water. Her familiar is a sourdough starter and her magic only works on bread. She has a comfortable life in her aunt’s bakery making gingerbread men dance.

But Mona’s life is turned upside down when she finds a dead body on the bakery floor. An assassin is stalking the streets of Mona’s city, preying on magic folk, and it appears that Mona is his next target. And in an embattled city suddenly bereft of wizards, the assassin may be the least of Mona’s worries…

Happy Reading Everyone!!

Lauren Meyer | 12 comments So sad about the book club not continuing next year, but even more excited to see what you will accomplish in 2022, Jaysen! I truly looked forward to our book club picks and livestreams every month. You have broadened my tastes in reading and for that I will forever be thankful!
