Do I remember correctly - Anita Blake series is paranormal? What was your daughter's thesis about?

Anita Blake is fantasy / paranormal... My daughter is still working on her thesis, hoping to finish this year. I'm not sure I understand her ideas, but basically how the monster (the different) are treated in society; themes like Aids (vampires), etc.
