Cozy Mystery Corner discussion

Wow! Another year and it’s time to sign up to choose our group reads for 2022. We need people to join in and volunteer to choose our group reads. It's easy. Just let us know if you have any questions or need any clarification. If there's a specific month you want, we'll reserve it for you. But please let me know if you find out you can't do it, so we have time to get someone else.

I was thinking of a theme of Amish Mysteries. Does anyone else like Amish mysteries. I don't want to pick a category no one is intersted in. Vanetta Chapman, Amanda Flowers, Laura Bradford, Amy Lillard, Isabella Alan. You won't hurt my feeling is you say no.

May I have my birthday month of October, if that is okay with you?

I haven't read an Amish mystery. so this would give some incentive to try one or two.

Although I don’t often join in the monthly reads, I’d be happy to select books again. I’ve done it once before. I don’t have a preferred month.

Ok, May is yours. You only need to choose one book with a theme. The second one is your choice and doesn't have to be for a theme.

How about March? There's a topic '2022 Book Selectors and Themes'. It will show whose month it is, and selected themes will be struck through.

Have all the months been signed up for? I'm new to cozies and would like to join in if there are still openings. If not, it's ok. I'm still going to read along during the months. I've never read a cozy before. I want to branch out of my norm this year and read genres I haven't read before.

When picking the cozy, is there a minimum/maximum page limit on the choice?

Cool. I'd like to sign up for September since it's my bday month. I can celebrate with a cozy.

There are no set limits. I think no shorter than 125 pages is good, and no longer than around 400 pages so members don't feel like they won't finish in time. Does that sound reasonable?

Is there a way to see what's already been read?? or requirements?
I'm somewhat new to this group and still learning my way around. Thanks

If you go to our bookshelf and click on date started, you can see what we've read in order. The books you pick should have not ever been picked, or not read in the last 18 months. Or you can click on the Featured Series and Cozies folder and follow that.
We ask that one of your choices be available in book form and one digitally: although both would be great, but not always available. As your time gets closer, let me know if you need any help.
