Jonathan | 11 comments Last year I only just made the top of Mt Blanc. I started the year off well but ended up reading quite a few books that weren't applicable for this challenge; and some were quite long. I typically read about 50 books in a year so 24 off the TBR pile is quite good. And I'm intending on reading some long books this year too.

Good luck, Jonathan!

Jonathan | 11 comments Finally finished The History of Modern France; I should've finished it last week but caught the dreaded Covid and was covering absences at work. Sheesh. I've enjoyed reading this book along with JJ Norwich's France: A History: from Gaul to de Gaulle but really need to read more detailed books on specific periods from hereon.

Jonathan | 11 comments Finished The Enchanted April by Elizabeth von Arnim today, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It is just taking me so long to read books these days as work is taking over my life....still, what to read next?

Jonathan | 11 comments Finally finished Napoleon by Alan Forrest. It's taken so long as things get steadily worse at work - see note above. Think I might resign and just read books for a few months. :-)

Jonathan | 11 comments Finally finished The Book of Lost Books: An Incomplete History of All the Great Books You'll Never Read by Stuart Kelly. Sheesh! How fkng long does it take me to read a book these days!!!!

Jonathan | 11 comments Four more to read by the end of the year. Not sure if I'll make it.

Jonathan | 11 comments Ok, So I read Camus's The Outsider years ago...decades ago (yes, I'm that old). I bought this kindle edition in 2017 and I'm (re-)reading it now. I lose track of whether this counts or not but I think it does. Anyway, I need to read this again at this point in my life. Mersault, c'est moi.

Jonathan | 11 comments Think I might just make it. Two more to go!

Jonathan | 11 comments Done it! 24 books! With three days to spare. There really wasn't any doubt I'd do it, was there?
