He stood up looking around and calling out "is anyone here?" He took out a small pocket knife, deciding that it may be of use if anyone was hostile...
"I am!" came a voice, and a blonde haired woman with yellow eyes emerged.
Ravyn couldn't remember getting here, she'd just appeared. She heard someone calling out in the hallway around the corner. "is anyone here?" Another voice answered, "I am!".
Where am I? she thought.
Deciding it would be best to go to them instead of being taken by surprise when they came around the corner Ravyn drew her sapphire and started creeping down the hallway.

Deciding it would be best to go to them instead of being taken by surprise when they came around the corner Ravyn drew her sapphire and started creeping down the hallway.

A man appeared out of the shadows, his wild black hair hanging over above his shoulders. He backed away when he saw her.
"W-who...who are you? Where am I?" he said, looking around.
Ravyn set her feet ready to either attack or run. She looked the man over, he seemed safe enough so Ravyn relaxed slightly lowering her dagger to her side.
“I don’t know where we are,” she says her voice steady. “My name is Ravyn, who are you?”
“I don’t know where we are,” she says her voice steady. “My name is Ravyn, who are you?”

"I-I'm Phoenix." Phoenix stuttered, and then looked around hearing the other two voices echo across the rooms of the castle. "I wonder who they are..." he pointed in the direction of where the two voices were coming from.
Ravyn saw him tense then relaxe and realized that he was probably more scared than she was. “I was about to go find out when you showed up,” she says. “It sounded like they might know each other earlier so if you have anyone you might want to start looking, we have no idea how many people could be here.”
Ravyn herself would have to start looking for Forest, he was the only person she could actually trust. But was he here? She could take care of herself just fine without him, but still an ally would be nice.

The sound of the voices ceased from the other end and then a man's voice (which was Felix's) shouted over at them
"You there, do you know where we are?"
And the sound of two pairs of foot-steps followed after, walking over to where Ravyn and Phoenix were standing.
Ravyn tensed a little and hid her dagger in her sleeve. Better to be underestimated than attacked.
"No, we've been wondering the same thing," Ravyn called back as they approached. She glanced at Pheonix wondering if he might know these people because she certainly didn't.

Felix sighed, hardly paying attention to her at this point and focusing his attention on the newcomers. They seemed interesting to say the least...
"I wonder who lives in this castle." Felix scoffed, "if anyone lives here at all...They didn't even welcome us here."
Angela smiled, "maybe a ghost lives here." Felix shook his head, unhappy with that answer.
She then turned back to Phoenix and Ravyn, "I'm Angela, by the way you may already know this is Felix..." she pointed at him, "he seems not to understand the concept of stealth."
Phoenix nodded, once again too overwhelmed to respond. "You are?" she asked.
Ravyn relaxed a bit, these two didn't seem like they wanted to hurt her or Pheonix. "I'm Ravyn and this is Pheonix," she said gesturing to him. "So you have no idea where we are?"
Ravyn was hoping that she could get some answers from this but she doubted it. These two seemed just as confused as them.
((i can bring some more characters in if it won't get to complicated, i have Ravyns brother and Cairo who's complicated))

Angela giggled, "we have a Phoenix and a Felix in the same room? Isn't that going to get confusing?"
"Our names, are nothing alike his name is that of a fire-y bird, my name is that of...well..." he paused, realizing he didn't exactly know the meaning of his name, "it's just a common name."
Angela shrugged, "still seems confusing to me, well anyway pleasure to meet you both. If I may ask, where do you hail from?"
Ravyn watched their exchange with small smile. "I'm from Adria, it's somewhere far from here I'm guessing," Ravyn said. "How about you two..."
Ravyn trailed off, she thought heard voices in the hall behind her. Yep she definitely heard voices, two men and from the sound of it they were arguing rather loudly.
"We need to find Ravyn," Forest pressed. "She could need help."
"We don't even know if she's here, besides I'm sure she can take care of herself," Cairo said starting to walk away.
Forest followed him trying to shake off the weird feeling creeping up his spine. He'd just appeared here in this strange castle without a living thing in sight and then Cairo had come casually around corner as if nothing was wrong.

"I am from England." replied Felix, "at least...That's where I want to be..." he paused, and then said, "right now at least..."
Angela looked over at Phoenix, "and where are you from 'fire-y bird'?" she mimicked Felix a little bit, which he did not seem very pleased about.
"Um..." muttered Phoenix, feeling more shy than he was usually maybe it was the noise and the amount of voices all at once, "I am from the place where Ashalena will eventually rule..."
Angela then turned over to where the new voices were and called out, "Hey you there, who are you? And what are you doing here?"
Forest and Cairo both froze then glanced at each other. They put their hands on their sword hilts and walked forward slower than before. It seemed they weren't alone after all.
"We just appeared here, do you know what this place is?" Forest asked speaking up but not saying their names.
Ravyn immediately recognized Forest’s voice. She turned to the others and said, "That's my brother but I don't know who he's with yet." Then she raised her voice. "Forest it's me, get over here and I'll explain." Ravyn felt somehow safer knowing Forest was here, it meant she wasn’t alone in a castle full of strangers.
The two young men both released a breath and dropped their hands from their sword hilts. Forest started walking a bit faster and rounded the corner with Cairo behind him. Ravyn was with three other people none of which looked the slightest bit familiar.

"Who are you?" he asked the newcomers.
Forest held up his hands to show he didn't have any weapons in them. "I'm Forest and this is Cairo," he says calmly. "I believe you have my sister."
Cairo rolled his eyes, he liked Forest and all but sometimes you just have to be direct. "Do you know where we are? And why?"
Ravyn stepped forward. "Calm down Prince we don't know anything, we're just as confused as you. Forest have you seen anyone else? Or just him?" she said gesturing to Cairo with a small glare which he returned.

"And how do you think we got here? Do you think we were kidnapped--"
"Or some supernatural force was involved, a ghost or a god or goddess perhaps?" chimed in Angela, staring at Felix who was biting his lip trying not to react to what she just said.
"You know I don't believe in ghosts, Angela." replied Felix.
"Yes, that is why I like to tease you about it." Angela giggled, thinking that it would have been wiser if Felix had not told her that to begin with, "but seriously, something supernatural or magical could have caused it."
"Maybe, it certainly seemed magical," agrees Ravyn, she didn't have any other explanation for how they could just disappear and show up here.
"But why?" adds Forest. "Is this a test, a tournament? Are we supposed to find a way out or fight each other?"
"Last one standing wins and gets let out," Cairo suggests. "Solve a puzzle or riddle."
Ravyn groans softly. "Well we're not going to find out anything if we just stand here."

Angela groaned, "You're not from a world where magic is normal I presume?"
"Why would magic be normal?" Felix replied.
"It's normal for me..." replied Phoenix quietly.
"And me" added Angela, and then continued "but yes, we should go around and find out the way to get out of here..." Angela replied, but couldn't help but feel she was being watched by something-- in the shadows-- it was an uncanny feeling...
"I think something lives here." Angela said, suddenly, and then feeling subsided. As if, whatever it was, knew she was there.
"So do I, something or someone has to be here," Ravyn agrees feeling it too. "And don't come from a world where magic is normal but it does exist even if it's rare but this place obviously has magic if we were sent here the way we were."
"So are we splitting up or sticking together?" asks Forest.
Cairo speaks up now. "No one should go alone if there's something in here but there's six of us so we can split into groups of two or three."

Cairo speaks up now. "No one should go alone if there's something in here but there's six of us so we can split into groups of two or three."

"Oh gods, let's hope it's not a monster living in here." replied Angela, though, when she said it, she could not help but think about her being considered a monster, surely if they knew who she was really, they would think she was a monster too-- no, she wouldn't think about it. None of the people here knew her....
"Yes let's hope not." muttered Phoenix, looking around.
"Although we might have to kill the monster if there is one," Ravyn says. "Maybe we were sent here as a sacrifice to it and to survive we have to kill it before it eats us all." Of course Ravyn doesn't actually believe that but it's a fun idea.
Forest gives Ravyn a look. "Really Ray? Now is not the time for that."
"Well I agree with Ashford," Cairo says crossing his arms.
"Which Ashford?" Ravyn and Forest ask in sync.
Cairo just shakes his head and waves them off. "There's most likely something else living here. So we have two choices, find it or hide from it."
((it seems this castle is turning into the horror/thriller/mystery castle lol))

Phoenix backed away at the word of "sacrifice," that was horrible he gulped and muttered under his breathe "I would hate to be eaten by a monster." He thought he had said it quietly but Felix noticed--
"Coward, no one was volunteering to be eaten by it, we were hoping we would get away from it before it did that." Felix muttered."Though the question is whether or not it was real...."
"You doubt me?" asked Angela, her face turning red.
"I hardly know any of you, for all I know you could be lying...." replied Felix. Just then he felt the feeling that Angela had felt behind him, he remained calm, but still felt strange....Someone or something was watching him.

(I actually don't know-- But we'll both soon find out. ;) )
Ravyn smirked. "You feel it don't you? It's probably watching us right now so if you don't believe in ghosts right now you probably will soon."
"Ravyn leave the guy alone," Forest says with a warning tone. "And no one's going to get sacrificed or eaten, alright? We're going to get out of here, for all we know the doors could be wide open and we're just overreacting." As he said it though Forest could feel what she was talking about. He shook it off, there were no ghosts

Angela slapped Felix across the face, "stop it! We need to work together, not be enemies!"
The feeling Felix had subsided, though he was unnerved not only because he had been slapped across the face, but because there was something there.
“I actually don’t know anyone magical Felix but least i can deal with the idea of magic and ghosts without having a panic attack,” Ravyn says earning a elbow in the stomach from Forest.
“Ravyn if we’re going to work together we need to not fight, i think that would be best,” he says with his warning tone.
“Yeah well me and him are betrothed and we still hate each other,” Ravyn says pointing at Cairo then covering her mouth, she hadn’t meant to say that.
“I prefer the title ‘temporarily having to deal with each other until i fix your mess’,” Cairo says blankly.

"Is it an arranged marriage?" asked Angela, seriously, "the woman I
work for, Lady Annabelle was in an arranged marriage and she well...hated it. Thankfully the man she was going to marry died."
"How is that a thankfully?" asked Phoenix, "how is it good that anyone died?"
"Well she doesn't have to deal with him...anymore." replied Angela.
((which part?))
“Exactly! it’s good because then she didn’t have to deal with him and yes it’s arranged by my aunt and his mother,” Ravyn says bluntly glaring at Cairo.
“Again this is your fault and if i recall correctly when this first happened you said ‘people die young’,” he says.
“And so they do,” she begins. “But you can’t prove—“
“Will you two cut it out,” interrupted Forest. “ It’s enough i have to deal with you at home, if you actually tried to get along i think you’d find you like each other.”
“Yeah that’s not happening,” Cairo says.

Phoenix spoke up, "have you thought about the idea of not marrying just ever? Like running away and not ever getting married, just being single forever?"
"I don't think marriage is the important thing here," Felix sighed, hoping to bring the conversation back to the thing that was lurking around the castle, "anyway, the monster or ghost, or whatever it is. What do we do about it?"
Ravyn first turned to Phoenix. “Yes i actually have and i probably would if given the chance,” then she turned to Felix. “We should start by searching the castle for clues as to why we’re here and a way out.”
“Splitting up into two groups would probably be best because we have no idea how big this castle is but it would take to long for all of to stick together and look,” adds Forest.
“We should probably find some weapons too,” Cairo says. “We don’t know what’s outside the castle either.”

Angela interrupted, "yes we probably do need weapons. Does anyone have any on them?"
"I have a pocket-knife, but that's probably not very useful against someone who is already dead...Assuming they are...." replied Felix, taking out his small pocket-knife and showing it to the group.
“I just have my dagger,” Ravyn says pulling it out to show everyone.
“Me and Cairo both have our swords,” Forest says.
“I have a dagger too,” Cairo adds pulling one out his boot. “If anyone’s unarmed they can have this.”
Ravyn looked around their little group, if something was really here and it had somehow brought them here and wanted them dead they probably already would be. Unless it wanted to play games. She shook off the idea, they could get out here and they would.
((idea: maybe it should be more than one thing, like a bunch of little things or tribe of something))

Felix noticed though, "Angela, or Phoenix do you have a weapon handy?"
"No, I'm just a poet. I don't carry around weapons." replied Phoenix.
"No." lied Angela, and moved her hand away from her pocket. She should have disposed of it.
(Let's see what happens, and whether or not that is true but that is a good idea....)
Ravyn smiled, she’d only known Phoenix for less than a day but that he was a poet seemed very fitting. “Alright well one of you can have the dagger i guess and we’ll have to look for something useful for the other,” she says.
Cairo gave to dagger to Pheonix since he was closer and told them to figure out who got it.
Forest being more observant than his sister had noticed that Angela’s hand had drifted to her pocket and wondered what she might have in it. But there were bigger things to worry about right now. “So are we splitting up?”

"Yes let's split up." said Angela, "and see if we can find anything, at all..." she looked around the room, "and maybe we can also find a torch." She felt her pocket again, maybe no one would notice if she disposed of what was in somewhere in the castle...It was already so dark already...they probably wouldn't....
"Yes good, and in groups of three as we said before." replied Felix.
Ravyn stopped paying as much attention, they could figure it all out without her. She touched Phoenix’s elbow softly to get his attention and pulled out her own dagger. “Grip it like this,” she demonstrated. “And relax your wrist a bit so your not so stiff.”
“You should probably be with at least one of the more experienced fighters since your unarmed,” Forest said to Angela. “We can try to find you a weapon or something that can be used like one but it’s better to be safe.”
“Do either of you have some fighting experience?” Cairo asked. “Anything from weapons to hands.”

"I have done some fox hunting." replied Felix, "but it was more of a hobby less something I did in self defense, but I do have some experience with a dagger...or pocket knife."
"I well..." Angela bit her lip, did she want to reveal this to them? Really want to give information to them that they would probably take the wrong way, "I sort of have experience with it, not with swords really..." she continued trailing off, "but with poison." yes she had said it, there was no taking it back now.
“You don’t have to be worried about us not trusting or judging you for that,” Ravyn had only been half listening but she had picked up on Angela’s hesitation. “I think it’s cool.”
“Well anything is better than nothing,” Cairo says then clarifies. “Meaning the fox hunting not the poison. Means your most likely cunning, that can come in handy.”
“Alright well how about Angela, Felix and Cairo for one group then Ravyn, Phoenix and me for the other,” Forest says then adds, “If you want to switch it up you can.”

"Like snake oil?" asked Felix, disbelievingly.
"No..." replied Angela. "...And the two groups sound good."
“Woah dragon venom, you have dragons where your from!” Ravyn says disbelieving but amazed at the same time. “Back home they’re only myths and legends.”
“It doesn’t matter where it comes from, we might be able to use that,” Cairo says. “If we really do have to kill some sort of beast that could come in handy.”
“It doesn’t matter where it comes from, we might be able to use that,” Cairo says. “If we really do have to kill some sort of beast that could come in handy.”

"Then how did you get the venom?" asked Felix.
"It's very complicated..." replied Angela. "But I do know a few dragons."
"Uh huh, and I know the Queen of England." replied Felix, sarcastically.
“You have elves too!” Ravyn says ignoring Felix. “So are we from like alternate realms or just different continents or planets?”
“How could we be from different realms? That would have to be powerful magic,” Forest asks.
“We’re getting off topic again, we need to find out what’s going on now it doesn’t matter how we got here, we’re here,” inputs Cairo trying to get things back on track.

Cairo when he started talking.
"I'm not sure..." muttered Angela, "Are you familar with the names Lady Annabelle, Lord Oberon...Or perhaps even the names of the gods, Nisis/Nyro or Karleon?"
"I don't know any of those people..." muttered Phoenix, "do you know Ashalena?"
Felix looked over at Cairo, "how about we discuss what to do while they talk about where they came from?"
“None of those sound familiar to me, most of the countries on my continent believe in one god although they’re all different,” Ravyn says. “Maybe we really are from different realms.”
Cairo looked away from the two women towards Felix. “Since we seem to be the only logical people that would probably be best. Have any ideas?”
“Then where are we? Are we in one of our worlds or a completely different one and how do we get back?” asks Forest joining the discussion.

"I suggest that we break out into groups, light a torch or a candle or something and figure out what is lurking in the shadows..." Felix replied.
"This does not look like a castle in my realm, so I wonder if we're in a completely different realm." responded Angela.
