Someone in the book is a vampire. Think Twilight or Interview with a Vampire.

Lyn Denison (lyndenisonauthor) | 10 comments J J Arias has the Dusk Queen series of three books which are well worth reading. In fact I'm not a vampire reader but I really enjoyed these. I tried them because I'm a great fan of her other books.

Balance of Forces Toujours Ici (Forces, #1) by Ali Vali Balance of Forces: Toujours Ici by Ali Vali (first in trilogy) It's been awhile since I've read these. Neither main is a vampire (one immortal, one human), but there are vampires in the book.

Heather (hclewis) | 48 comments Moira Darling has a new book out in an interconnected standalone series which is book 2 A curse Bright and Breathing and book 1 is A Hunger Soft and Wild. Also another great trilogy by Alyson Root starting with Risking Immortality. Both authors explore some different takes on being a vampire which I loved.

As an avid reader of sapphic vampires, I have a few:
* Cait Reagen series by Aoibh Wood (Blood Rituals is the first book) - Urban fantasy, and Cait's life is a bit of a mess. It gets quite dark in places.
* Leyore Vampires series by Chloe Peterson (Fanged Interest is the first book). On the lighter side, but fun reads.
* In the Shadow of Darkness by Nicole Stiling
* Dark Haven by Brey Willows. Online celeb x older vampire, and I think it's done rather well.
* Best Friend Promise by Issy Waldrom (this one is mine; trans woman mc)
* Olympia the Bounty Hunter series by Lila Gwynn.
* The Nibbled Bookmark by Melody Avant - for a pg13 novel, it dances on the line a lot. trans mc, vampire x hunter, and it's adorable.
* The Consciousness: When love never dies by Claire Highton-Stevenson. Light read, lot of fun, though.
* The Accidental Bite by Michelle St. Wolf. Starts off as an office romance.
* Just my Type by Lucy Bexley. This is a rom-com, but it starts off rather dark.
* Carmilla and Laura by SD Simper - Best Carmilla retelling.
* Death Has Golden Eyes by Cameron Darrow. One of the major characters is a vampire (Azalea), and she's just so wonderfully done. I love Darrow's books, and this one is up there as one of my favourites or hers.
* Hawthorne's Revolution series by Amy DeMeritt
* A Crimson Covenant by Aimee Donnellan
* Creatures of Darkness series by Britney Jackson (caveat - the first book isn't queer; Rose doesn't meet Kara till book two. The series as a whole is sapphic, though, and it is my favourite vampire series to date. No het sex scenes at all in the series).

Ellyn | 2 comments If you like The Wicked and the Willing by Lianyu Tan you might like Deadly Kiss by Ariel Marie. I still need to read Lianyu's book - Deadly Kiss may turn out less darker than Lianyu's books though, and there's a lot of spice, so be prepared for that.
