We made it to the end! What did you think of the book? Who was your favorite character? Let's chat :)

Mike | 56 comments I did the audiobook for this one, and either I missed them or it didn't include an obvious break for each of these four parts. I remember hearing the break for Part Two, but that's the only one I picked up on...so I'll just jump right to the end discussion here.

This was a decent read, and at times I found myself liking it a lot... but overall I did have a problem staying connected or interested in the story. I guess that I loved the general outline of the story, but lost interest in some of the details. Even by the 75% mark in the book, I was still asking myself which sister was which (witch? ha ha ha)... I could recall pieces of their character, but when it came to the details they always blurred.

There were some fantastic and powerful quotes throughout this book though, and it was definitely worth the read for nuggets like these.

“One witch you can laugh at. Three you can burn. But what do you do with a hundred?”

“If you want to blame someone for a fire, look for the men holding matches.”

"It seems to her it has happened this way before, and will happen again... until there are no witches left to burn, or no men left to burn them."

“She didn’t think throwing down the tyranny of man would take so many meetings, but apparently it does.”

Cheryl Made it to the end, after each time I picked it up thinking I wouldn’t make it. Feel exasperated! Found the book dull, boring, confusing and much too long! Favorite character was Mr. Blackwell- he turned out a bit surprising and rather gracious.
