I'm not a science person AT ALL, though through my years at PBT I've learned to live with it and even enjoy it. And this tags always makes me think of Nicole R which makes me look fondly on it.
That being said - Nicole and I diverge on this book. haha.
I thought this was a fascinating book that everybody should read. I did listen to it, so perhaps that helped but I was rarely bored. I feel like this was a story of good vs evil (people vs cancer) and the myriad ways we have tried to slay that dragon through the centuries. I was really interested in the political aspects (NBD, cancer doesn't deserve money.... ) and the personal stories. I thought it was illuminating and interesting.
I gave it 4 stars ... but I think that was due to the narrator, whose droning voice made even me, an admitted medical science geek, lose interest at times.
