the concept was really unique, and it's probably the first time that a book that's said to be 'a successor to the hunger games' actually reminds me of the hunger games. in this case it's almost the reverse - rather than being constantly controlled and watched, they can sort of do whatever they want, as long as they don't break any of the serious laws etc. and the most important thing: it's possible for them to live forever
i mean even the whole star-crossed lovers reminds me of the hunger games, except rowan actually does something useful (jk i love you peeta)
the thing i'm most interested in is the thunderhead, which is essentially this giant...computer? cloud? that sees everything and makes sure crime is kept at 0, as well as having knowledge about everything. i want to learn more about how it was created, how it was run, and whether it's possible for it to be corrupted
i'm definitely looking forward to the next one, especially since it's named after the thunderhead, meaning that i might get some of my questions answered
Some discussion prompts:
-Have you read this book are you planning to read it?
-If you've read it, what did you think about it?
