Jordyn booklover | 45 comments BOOK BOOK!!!!! The movie was fine and all, and the casting was awesome, but for me it was kinda cheesy and the book in a way was more poetical, you know. Like in a movie that can’t talk about the lush and grass and yawning, towering walls. It’s just not the same. Also, it was more informing because it told you what Thomas was think through the whole experience.

Shawna Finnigan (sugoishawn) | 54 comments I like both but I prefer the movies because I'm not the biggest fan of James Dashner's style of writing

Arianna w. | 8 comments I like both…I enjoy the books plot more and I like crank palace because ✨newt✨ but I also love seeing their faces and fan girl over newt and say everyone’s lines….. I don’t want to choose!

Kiyo B (booklove12) | 3 comments BOOK ALL DAY! The movie was fine but it was so different from the book that it was like a different story. Also NEWT. Fangirling is easier when you read. Cause then you can throw books and get mad. And scream. And imagine everything in your own way. Also you could read a lot of details and descriptions. The book was just awesome lol.

I'M SORRY DID THEY SAVE NEWT IN THE BOOKS?!?!?! WHICH COPY DID YOU GET???????

Bailey(not super active lol) | 32 comments No they didn’t save newt in the book but in the movies they were SO SO SO SO close!!

i refuse to watch the third one how did they get close???

Bailey(not super active lol) | 32 comments The third one is so good! Teresa tells them they can save newt because Thomas’s blood healed Brenda , she’s not even contagious or cranky at all.
Newt - stabs himself before they can reach him , he falls to the ground just as Brenda runs up WTH the antidote .

mona ♡ (wishbone edition) (mona_tv) that makes watching him die so much worse!!! i still refuse to watch it then

Bailey(not super active lol) | 32 comments I watched it on my 18th birthday and SOBBED MY EYES OUT , I was legit shaking sobbing into my blanket

Esmee van der Pluijm (esmeepluijm) | 3 comments Storywise the books are better, however the cast of the movies was great and I enjoyed them playing the characters.

message 18: by Chloe Treadwell (new)

Chloe Treadwell | 1 comments I like the books because it seems like a better story but I love the cast of the movies and I just like reading in general

But the books have more information and stuff which helps to understand what the characters are thinking and feeling

Ideal guys are fictional | 2 comments So, I might be a little biased since foolishly I watched the movies first, but while I agree that the books are MUCH better plot-wise since it explains more and provides more depth, I'd have to go MOVIES! The cast is great, I always cry in Newt's death scene, and I like the adaptations as well. I'm not a great fan of James Dashner's style of writing since there's no character development or passion (my opinion only) and The Kill Order was unnecessary and boring. The Fever Code and The Crank Palace on the other hand, were gorgeous and I've reread them more times than I can count. However, because I watched the movies first, I always remember the plot with the adaptations rather than the vastly different book version, so it's just more iconic and logical for me. Sorry for writing an essay, thank you if you made it this far 😭

Molly | 13 comments ⚠️spoilers⚠️i read the books first and i think that the books are better than movies except for death cure. tbh the death cure movie was really good and was nothing like the book but i think the plot was just slightly better but i do think the book was still really good. the first two books were so much better and just so enjoyable to read i couldn’t stop smiling (i mean except for the odd time one of the best characters died ex. chuck, Newt, Teresa etc.)

Avery Vandenbark | 5 comments Books for the first time but if I want to see the story again later I will just watch the movies

brithebusybee | 22 comments Usually with books to tv adaptions i always love the books more and want accuracy regardless of plot holes, but i actually prefer the movies. First, round of applause for the cast, amazing! Second, i can see some redemption for ava paige, very little mind you, in the movie that i have a harder time with in the book; wicked had the right idea in the movie and just screwed up royally, book wicked always seemed corrupt. Third, this movie threw me through some visceral emotions; the books did too, but its not the same. I'm literally going through the five stages of grief after newt's death in the movie. Fourth, the death cure is one of the best movies i have ever seen. Fifth, the plot seems more coherent in the movies; i mean as coherent as a zombie movie's plot gets. Sixth, Thomas brodie-sangster. The girls that get it, get it.

brithebusybee | 22 comments Add to pervious comment. The stakes being raised with Thomas's blood being a true cure makes page 250's scene so much more powerful. Sad and awful, yes. But also better. I am sad that they removed newt talking about throwing himself off the wall in the movie, i know they filmed it I've seen it, but it got cut from the final movie. This is bad because I need more character development and depth.
